Seriously, folks, being the devoted AoK player I am , I pledge I will not abandon wholly this nearly middle-aged game (get it...hahahaaa....I have the lamest jokes..*gets clubbed by an AoKH militia*) to dawdle around in a mass-multiplayer online role-playing game where I collect, talk to Npc's, and try to level up to a 45 level human paladin and have...not a...life. Right now, I'm excited to buy one of the cheapest "mass multiplayer" (which it's really not) games out there for the PC, i.e. Guild Wars. I heard that, unlike other games out there, the key focus of the game is your ability and strategy and not having to spend a week finding some precious rare ring or upgrade (Or having to do a mortifying chicken dance in front of chickling (it's a stupid cheat in WoW to get a pet chicken), for all you WoW fans..) Additionally, the there is only one cost, and not a monthly fee for gaming online. Hence, because the game does not require that much time or money, I'll probably be available to game AoK at MCSN or make some custom scenarios. This game I shall treat like thrilling but non-life-consuming game. If any of you feel the way I do about Guild Wars, please open the floor and let us talk ourselves into mass multiplayer games, or namely Guild Wars! ^_^

NN! I am ashamed.

No, not really. Guild Wars, from what I've read of it (including this HG thread), it sound like a good game. Just don't abandon us.

(I admit, I played RTW for a month. But I got bored and went back to AoK! I really did.)

I forgot about AoK long ago.

And I'll probably get Guild Wars soon. No monthly fee.

What bugs me about these MMORPGs is that you don't really get to try it out and see if you like it before buying it. The way they're setup, gameplay demos are rare and impossible for the companies to provide. So you spend 50-60 bucks on the game. If you don't like it, you can quite playing it and cancel your account, but you're still stuck with having blown money on the game in the first place.

And then there's always the chance that the game will sour and die, rather like Star Wars Galaxies is in the process of doing because of detrimental updates, destruction of the game's economy, and a problem with gameplay balance as Jedi begin to take over the galaxy. And then Enter the Matrix appears to fall far short of the hype and is not worth the price of admission, filled with irritating glitches and inferior features. I don't know about Guild Wars, but so many of these MMORPGs are all hype and expense with very little substance.

The pricing is attractive and the features sound promising on GW, and I like the premise of the game, and of course, the graphics are outstanding. My friend is begging me to get WoW though so I can play alongside him. I dunno about that though. If I were to actually play one of these things instead of just designing my own, I think that Guild Wars would be the one. I'll have to wait and see though.

... in addition to what Ray said, I think Guild Wars is a really cool Rpg game.

My friends play all the time, but my computer cant run it. The graphics really are uber.

Ahem. I've heard about Guild wars just today, but it seems, that THIS MMORPG is good. The stuff, like real value of gold etc makes it worth playing.

MMORPG's burn my eyes. The only one ever enjoyed was an online one, and even then, it didn't float my boat. I've become addicted to the simple tactical strategy known as Laser Squad Nemisis.

I'm also guessing I'm the only person who ever heard of that game on this site.

I own this game and find it very addicting. It isnt like other MMOs in that you can stop playing and join again months later if need be. It actually can feel more like a single player game if thats how you choose. And to all those players out there, give me your GW name and I'll add you to my friends list. Feel free to join my guild too! We have a hall and TeamSpeak!

This. Game. Owns.

It's the best RPG i've seen. It minimal hardware configuration is low, there's just 512 MB RAM needed and fast (1024) internet connection.

Graphic - nice, very nice.
Gameplay - may be boring in the RPG session, but PvP is PvP...
Handling - quite messy first whiles (especially in lag), but after few minutes i've got used to it...

My friend is playing R/Me; he has one for PvP (20 - Green Something) and one for RPG (13 - Pete Blindshot). It's quite fun to play, but i've played it 3+ hours, nearly all was PvP. I am amazed....
