Has anyone ever had a close call where they very nearly missed being badly injured/killed?

One time I was driving on the highway in a compact car. A semi was next to me and went to change lanes, but he must not have seen me because clearly I was in his way and he would have crushed me. I couldnt change lanes either because there was a SUV right next to me on the other side. So I had to slam on the brakes really hard. Its lucky there was no one right behind me.

Another time one of my friends was lighting a bottle rocket and I was standing behind him. However, he decided to drop it and it fell and flew backwards. It scorched the side of my shoe, it was so close to my foot.

Anyone else?

Because people will always have close calls.

In fact, just today, I was at my friend's house, and I didn't see his sliding glass door was closed, so I walked into it. I was okay, but I fell backwards and hit his computer desk, and his computer monitor was already precariously placed on his desk, and it fell off and hit the ground literally an inch from my face. It was pretty scary, since it was a pretty big and heavy and definitivly a face-crushing capable monitor.

What happened to the monitor?

Yeah, she used to wait for the pimple to become white.

It was fine actually. The edge is a little dented, but we plugged it back in and tried it out, and it seems to work okay.

Its probably like spewing out radiation though.

Ahh, I remember the worst thing ever happened to me.

I was 10 smth smth, and I was fighting over a broken glass bottle for reasons unknown. AT some point I realized that my hand was completely covered in blood. Looking closer, I discovered, that the broken glass had cut my finger, and a bloodvessel, which was literally outside my body, pumpin blood like a ... pump.
I closed the bloodvessels going into my finger, which made the finger very white, and ran like hell to somewhere where I could get a bandage from. After I put the bandage on, everything was back to normal except all my clothes were bloody. And the weirdest part was, I didn't feel even the slightest pain. I still have a hideous scar on my finger.

Hehe...Reminds of this rock festival I went to (RMJ). I became conscious sometime during the second day of the festival, and looked at my hands - my fingers were bandaged and my wrists were bloody. I asked my friend what had happened. He told me that after a bottle of kossu in the morning for my hangover (this I remember drinking), I had been entertaining a group of people with my portable cd-player, mimicing Slash, ending the show by crushing some other guy's portable radio with a sunshade, and after that, peeing on that guy's tent. I heard that my friends had saved me.

I wonder how much close calls like this I've seriously had...I don't remember any.
