Just recently I have noticed a huge influx of AoK at my local game store in outback Australia. Before the huge influx of "Hur hur hur- remote Australia thought it had just come out" jokes, I want to know if anyone else has had the same phenonemena. It's been going for about $20 AU, which at the moment makes it worth about... on a rough calculation... 25c US.

AoK is huge in Australia. When I was going to school it seemed that half the kids played it.

Same in the Netherlands. It was quite popular in high school for a strategy game, I knew at least 4 others who played it. Now I'm studying history and basically all guys know it, although only one I know of plays it. Apart from that, it's been reappearing in game stores for over a year now, both in combo with AoK for about €20 and in a 'limited edition' combo pack with AoE, RoR, AoK and TC for €9 (weirdly enough).

AoK and AoE (often in a sort of SUPER DELUXE GOLD EDITION form) are to be found in quite many gameshops in Sweden. Often you get both AoE and AoK with expansions for 100-150 kronor (~15-25$) but at least they're still available.

It's now become a "retro" game, I suppose.

Been a while since I bought a game from anywhere but online, but I think it'd be cool once ES closes down to package all the Age games (AoE, RoR, AoK, TC, AoM, TT, AoE3, WC, AD) in a huge compilation.

Consider yourselves lucky, because I've not been able to find AoK in any of the stores near me.

Common sly_guy, I can find AoK in any EB games, or Bestbuy for that matter. Look harder.

The problem is that there aren't any Best Buys or EB Games in my town (all we've got is a lowly Mall-Wart). I'd need to drive to the nearest "shopping center", which is at least 25 minutes away.

I'll keep an eye out the next time I'm there, but I'm not getting my hopes up. And by the way, have you seen one of the combo packs (AoE and AoK plus their respective expansions) in any of the stores near you? If so, I might actually make a trip and find one near me...

Mall-Wart
lol.

Also, on a completely unrelated note, Dr. Phil in the background looks like Hercule Poirot.
