As I write this, the last post on their front page goes back to the 15th, while we go back to the 13th. What's doubly depressing is that they seem to have more actual discussions and fewer moronic forum games.
So we have the off-topic forum of an old, obscure game (which was based off AoK, as per LucasArt's "remake everything with Star Wars graphics" plicy) getting more posts than freaking Age of Kings Heaven. It's like sweating and striving over a piece of music, and then some hack samples it for his rap song and it's all over the top 20.
I've been posting here for nearly a third of my life, people. Six years. We used to talk about how long before the forums would die. Well, it seems that day is finally here.

No, Lord Fadawah used to post here for years.
Also, looking into it, what the hell are you whining about? AoKH as a total still has nearly twice the posts of SWGBH, and that's without the numerous KoRTs and ODs or whatever I have been told that existed here at some point.

I've been hearing this since I registered 7'1/2 years ago. I think quality wise, AOKH may actually be better than when I last came here. Although the topics are lacking. Whatever happened to all those debate threads anyway?

You seem to be forgetting that its summer and a lot of people are more busy with real life stuff, therefore less posts. This is only my third year and I know that. Posting will pick up in the fall when school starts again and then even more in January when more and more newbies join, just like every other year this heaven has existed.
I know that personally this is only my first or second post since last sunday. Its just because I'm busy.
The fact that SWGB has more activity only proves that people who post there have no lives. :P

Bart hasn't commented, so it's safe to assume he is. Plus mixing hookers and the Simpsons is such a Fadawah thing to do.
Yeah, well I've been posting here for my whole life. Ten years. So stuff it.

Eh, I forgot about the annual summer slump. I guess activity will pick up later in the year.
Mainly for it's people like you who make melodramatic posts and "leave" only to come back amnd rabbit on about how the forum is dying?
Yeah you pretty much described me right there.

I've posted here in several previous lives. For instance, I was a Chicago businessman from 1947 to 1979. Man, was the forum ever active then.

Bart Pimpson is such a smurfy sounding name.
It beats 'four hundred babies' though...

I will go out and say that the SWGBH community is awesome. They're a very close community, and although they're less game-oriented than we are (far less activity in the gaming arena), they have very loyal members and they're generally awesome in every way possible. I also think SWGB is a great game, in that it's a copy of AoK yet has an improved editor.
That said, note that they have no Splash Splash -- equivalent discussions get their own topic. Note how they have a Mafia, with two threads dedicated to it. Note how they don't have a dude whining about how their forum is dieing, but instead, they actually make new, discussion-worthy topics for the community.
You know why forums die? Because people stop having things to talk about. Lurkers register to participate in topics; if there are no new topics, they go elsewhere. Even a mediocre topic can be discussion worthy; they can discuss how mediocre it is.
Six years. We used to talk about how long before the forums would die. Well, it seems that day is finally here.
I've been here longer. Seriously man, why don't you post a topic that will give us something to talk about, rather than making *yet another* Doomsayer thread to add to our collection? You've been here long enough that you should know better. I'm telling you, THIS is not the forums being dead. We normally *decline* in activity during the summer, so this is NORMAL. It's been like that for the seven years I've been here. Eventually the forums will die, yes, but eventually *we* will die too. Are we sulking, mourning that one day, our beautiful AoK will no longer run on 99% of all computers? No. This forum has had a great run for it's money, and right now, it's freakin' vibrant. This Heaven is nearly 11 years old, yet we get more new forum registrations every day than any of the *new* Heavens. And that's not just because HG spitting out awful Heavens like it's a trailer park prostitute spitting out babies; it's because AoK is really that great of a game.
Yeah you pretty much described me right there.
You're a cool guy Faddy, and I respect you more than I could ever respect a guy named Bart Pimpson. But with this thread, you're beating a dead horse. GIVE US SOMETHING TO DISCUSS, MAN! Look at all of the threads on the TC: most of them, 25+ posts. People can't be worried about not getting a reply, so why don't they post more new material? Every single thread has at *least* one reply. Post, post until your heart EXPLODES with the love of your community for getting to read your exciting views on popular culture!!!!!111!13431 SRSLY!!1

I love when Aro talk seriously.
I am one of the newest forumers here, I didn't registered earlier because I only hit 13 years old this year. (I lurked for 3 years before that!)

All threads that are neither sticky nor Splash Splash also die. We need to get a cycle going, and perhaps less of a turnover.

OK, I'll quit being a whiny douchebag. I was just annoyed, because frankly the quality of conversation has sucked lately (*waits for jokes about the quality of his own posts*) and I was attributing it to the death of the forum rather than the seasonal cycle of school/holidays. Things do pick up in the winter or summer or whatever it is in Amerikhastan.
But with this thread, you're beating a dead horse. GIVE US SOMETHING TO DISCUSS, MAN!
