Well, I wanted to become a software engineer. I'm interested in computers and code, after all. Turns out, however, that I can't program for beans. Once I got to the real meat of it, I was running into a brick wall on all fronts. My last test, I was lucky to get a 3/10, and not for lack of trying. Then it was just time to face facts: This wasn't gonna work. My parents and me are kinda bummed, because it would've been really convenient if this worked out.
But I reckon now that this is fine. Because it means that, even if I had succeeded, I wouldn't be cut out for this work and would have spent my life performing a job I'm mediocre at best at. That wouldn't make anyone happy. So now I'm trying to figure out what I'd be good at and could earn a living with, if not that.
