I just started playing aoc yesterday after many years of break. My friend introduced me to modding and aokheaven a long time ago, I'm trying to learn how to modify buildings however I encountered a few problems which I'm sure you can help me with.
In custom scenarios, the "Tower of flies" is very popular, what I'm trying to do is add a flag on it's top about twice the size of the flag when you garrison units inside (however I want this flag to be permanent, with or without units inside it, as part of the tower itself)
This is the result I got :/
That's exactly what I wanted, however after importing this image and testing it in game I have a few problems.
1) the white back ground appears aswell
2) units walk through the tower (due to the fact I moved the tower down in paint to make room for the flag)
For the first one, I suppose it has something to do with color masking inside aok mod pack studio. The original image has a background palette index:0 and attributes:mask whereas my edited image has a palette of 135 and attributes: color, I tried to change those but it didn't seem to work
For the second one, after messing around with the options in mod pack studio and testing it, I changed the anchor and now it fixed the problem, however I believe it's not exactly the way the original tower was since I did the anchor by eye, is there a way to get the exact anchor?
I want to have the exact original tower with the flag added, no other differences.
Lastly, the way I test it in game is by double clicking "Mode Pack 1.axp" is there a way to make these changes permanent so when I open the game from age2x_1.exe those changes appear? (my guess would be the option "making a drs file..." but when I tested by replacing the graphics.drs of the game directory the changes didn't appear)
Info that might be useful: the tower of flies is ressource #4684 under project explorer---->by location----> graphics.drs---->Table 1----->Ressource #4684
Thanks for any help, greatly appreciate it
Edit: As you can see in this screen the masking option is grayed out, if I click on "Mask color" and pick palette #135 which is the white color in the background, it doesn't do anything...
Edit2:
That's how it appears in game, can someone please help me? I'm sure there is an easy and simple way to fix this :/
