-Every Nth attack by a certain melee unit is ranged,
OR
-Every first attack within N seconds is a ranged.
I am thinking this for certain melee units, likeberserks, to simulate the ability to toss an axe or javelin before the melee. Think Harald Haardraada, the berserk hero unit that has the same attack animation as all berserks but his attack is ranged and shown by an axe projectile. If this is possible it could allow interesting new content. Examples:
1) Mounted units being able to toss a spear before engaging in melee,
2) Roman infantry tossing pilum before combat.\,
3) Trireme combat or boarding (ships are all melee with battering ram attack or fire ship attack, but their first attack will be a shower of arrows like the ones on longships or a ranged attack like scorpion or magonel attack).
This could potentially be done with AoE2HD:FE triggers, but is it possible through modding data?
