Hey Guys
Is anyone able to help me out? I'm trying to make a farm to look like a wheat farm with tall stalks about waist height.
Only Problem is when just using a new wheat graphic to replace the farm, the villager walks ontop of the wheat and not through it. So I tried to make a bunch of smaller clumps of wheat close together that the villager can walk behind, like a tree in a forest of trees. Tried a few methods but none so far have worked as wanted. Things ive tried are:
-Using Delta Graphics
Ive tried to make a bunch of the clumps scattered around with offset deltas, problem is the game treats each graphic as being in the middle of the farm. So if a villager is on the far side of centre of farm, he will always be obscured by the graphic, regardless if he his is standing behind or in front of it, and visa versa if he is on the near side of the farm.
-Using Annex units
Offsetting the graphic with Annex units fixes the issue of correctly showing the unit in front or behind the graphic, only adding annex units to the farm make is behave differently. The farmer will build with a hammer instead of throwing seed, and once built he wont automatically start to farm, despite my attempts to add it to his task list.
-Stacking the Annex units over the farm
This fixes all issues so far, only because they are 2 separate units they arnt linked together, meaning when the farm exhausts or dies, the wheat graphics don't disappear too, they are still there no matter what happens to the farm.
-Using Terrains
Tried using Terrains the same as the forest terrain adds trees. This seems to have the same effect of stacking over the top, they remain despite the farm dying.
Is there something I've missed or another work around to make this work, or is what I'm trying simply not possible?
Thanks 🙂
