What do you think should be included in a new scenario editor if ES was to make another? Give your suggestions for a new scenario editor in this thread. The suggestions can be new conditions, effects, terrain, or just your opinion on what would make a better scenario editor. Be sure to keep the discussions relating to the main topic of this thread.

i will like a function to save only triggers from a scenario to a ".xxx" file, and load in another scenario, or backup trigger system and you can pass it by e-mail, or diskette...

Triggers that can:
  • Completely customize a units stats.
  • Detect certain keystrokes.
  • Use an Objects Not In Area condition.
  • Completely change terrain.

    I think an effects like freezing units as they die for example when a champion dies he falls on his knees. also
    you should be able to place dead bodies that stay there and do not rot away. other things like being able to place weapons on the ground, stuck on a dead unit. Another would be stats, changing units armor, range, and speed.

    My wishes would have to be a randomizer and countdown trigger option.

    I also think object not in area or a customized unit display system would be great.

    A trigger that changes terrain and elevation would also be very useful :-). I will exploit what ever ES manages to come up with how ever.

    a "Whilst in area" condition, would make sound for different places so much easier to achieve .

    A "Camera Follow Unit" option. It would make your screen follow the selected unit, instead of having to repeatedly using the Scroll trigger.

    Also a Snap View trigger that instantly goes to an area, like in SWGB. Useful for cut-scenes.

    A cut & paste triggers option!

    More farm animals
    Different Gaia civilians (jesters, merchants, peasants, innkeepers etc)
    Different Gaia buildings (wells, taverns, other historical structures of the times)

    But the editor I have still rocks. it's me that limits it thinking I can't do it then I think again and hey presto! When you see what can be done (ie: Canute's Saga) you just gotta tip your hat to all involved.

    What I think would be cool is a unit editor. You completely customize a new unit then save it, and it would appear in the units list in the editor.

    100 players(more or less) instead of 8.

    Copy and paste will be more accurate and cut away just what you want. (example: half a house)

    You should be able to pave roads and build bridges. Sea walls and gates should be built by a new unit called a construction ship.

    Have 2 different types of each forest. Forest and Dense Forest. Pine Forest and Dense Pine Forest. Jungle and Dense Jungle. Foot soldiers and archers (not cavalry or siege units) should be able to walk through the normal forest but not the dense. Also villagers should plant trees, and it would take them 20 years to become full grown trees. This could be used as a defense or as a replenishable resourse. (I hate it when I am on an island and I chop away all the trees.)

    I suggest a new building called a ranch. It would be similar to a farm in that it would produce food, but it would be bigger and require 2-3 villagers to run it.

    There should be 2 more resourses: Iron and Water. Iron would be mined like gold or stone. There would be a button next to the repair button called gather water. When clicked, the selected villagers would go to the nearest water and fill their buckets. They would then take it to either a Town Center or a new building called a/an " ." (I am open to suggestions on the name.)

    This is all I can think of right now, I might be back.

    change ammount of resourse effect, like you can put a 99999 food farm with this, or a gold mine....

    Well like people have been saying, how about more animals?
    crocs, lions, and so on? how about hunting dogs? and better elavation that goes high, including stairs so units can go up or down? And, something that changes a weapon a unit uses, or change clothes style or make your own weapons. and how about marine predators? sharks, whales, how about putting snakes on the game? also archers should have the ability to shoot fire arrows with like braziers. another important thing would be instead of modpacks making a rain and snow, there should be an effect to do that. also more mountain designs or something that you can design your own terrain. it would be cool to have volcanoes spitin lava. volcanoe mountains for that matter. Also another good thing is having like wounded units with blood on them for use in scenarios. and it would be very awesome if it would turn day and night, show lightning effects and blizzards, not to mention sandstorms. more terrain like caves canyons. also military buildings should show action, like swordsmen fighting, archers shooting... i know this is alot of stuff, but i hope its gives good ideas. ill write again if i come out with more.

    Euhm... a better change .....(example: name), so that you can change names for units that aren't in the game when it starts.

    a type of easy trigger system these triggers now days are hard to put in action. simple triggers such as a unit moves some where and says something at the right time, rather then putting many triggers in effect just to make one thing happen. more gaia units (others) for scenarios i guess... and the ability to make day turn to night. well im out of ideas...

    Being able to set the loop count in the "play sound" effect

    Now this is one that I have wanted for a long while:

    -Animation Effects

    Description: basically allows a unit to perform one of the five animations it has for a set amount of times.

    -Effect:Set Animation

    Effect: let a unit start one of its 5 animations (standing, fighting, walking, dying, decay), you may set the direction of the unit as well as the number of times the unit will perform that animation, enter 0 for infinity.

    -Option: Preset Animation

    Effect: set an animation to a unit that is being created in the trigger the option is in.

    Thats easy...don't take much triggers at all!
    All you do is:

    Task Object to the area you want the unit to go to...

    And to make a it say something when you want it to is really easy.. just do either object in area and display instrutions. or Timer and display instrutions...

    easy as it gets man...
