Apart from a few tiny islands, neither denmark nor sweden were very much present.
So screw those. They came only after usa was formed, not before. Same with italians. Germany did no real colonisation until real late.. and then it was mostly pacific islands, that were later taken by japan post ww1. Oh, and some africa too,
As for the new world great colonisers, ranked, by me
*Spain, no question about it. Nr 1
*Uk, a good second*France, plenty of good colonies.
*Portugal, brazil. Even if it was mnostly the coasts, but still.
*Russia, alaska & a minor presence in california
*Netherlands, not very much, some nortern south africa and a few lesser antillies islands. Much comparable to russia here.
Which leaves 2 more.
Sweden & Denamrk are good
Germany, well, maybe for german sales, but history doesent exactly support them to be in.
Italy or Austria, please.. they did nothing in america. Sure , many of the most prominent americans came from there, but those are individuals emigrationg, not because of state policy of colonising.
For sheer fun, id include Vikings. And im sure danish, norwegians & swedes will all be equally sure that THEM, and equally sure that the other nations are just riding on their exploits. That would therefor be a good substitute for actual swedish & danish colonies.
