In previous games made by ES we see naval battles being fought in odd positions like ships stern(cant remember what a front of a ship is called) facing each other instead of the side. How will naval battles be handeled in AoE III? Would the ships fire from the sides this time and will the boats rock a bit?

I think naval battles are one of the biggest problems in previous AOE.But I hope they will make sth like AGe of Mythology hope better in the naval acsept.I expect big realizum in ship sunking.

Whoaskedu: What you propose is interesting, but far too complicated. Since in most games navy plays a small role compared to armies (except in maps like islands, which are not that often played) I doubt they will make such a complex system.

This problem was solved in Cossacks with all the guns being side mounted (exception for the howitzer on the Galley) so that ships couldn't fire from the front.
