I don't like the part where you ask questions after the topic is revealed. A better way would be...
The topic is revealed, then maybe a little bit of preperation time or just start. The PRO/affirmitive team starts off, after that's done the CON/negative team gives their speech. Once the CON team is done, then the PRO team gives their second speech to knock down the negative team's arguments and re-establish their arguments if it was knocked down by the CON team earlier. After, the CON team can give their second speech, which is similar to the second speech of the PRO's team. Once this is done, we have question period to knock down the opponent's arguments or try to make a fool out of them.(No personal attacks) After, the negative team gives their concluding speech and followed by the affirmitive team.
The judges tally the arguments/contentions that are left standing. Whichever team has the most wins.
I think this would be simpler than your way because there are too many question periods. Also, it's a better way of ending the debate too.
