This thread brings up a philosophical question. What exactly is the point or goal of this, and for that matter other, forums? Do we have internet forums only for the sake of discussing games? Do we have forums to converse with other people online?
Personally, I see the forums as more than just a place to discuss a common interest in a game. What attracted me to AoKH originally was reading many of the strategies. What kept me around, though, was the atmosphere and the community. I have always enjoyed reading threads, and since I registered I have enjoyed posting too.
This feeling carries over to Splash Splash. If one views the forums as strictly for gaming discussion, Splash Splash is an irrelevant use of bandwidth. However, in my experiences, Splash Splash has always been a fun thread to read and post in. For the most part, Splash Splash has usually had creative posts. The combination of creativity and randomness make the thread enjoyable to read and be a part of.
I have a serious problem with the feeling by people who play AoK online that people who don't play online have no right to be here. I have played AoK for years but never online. I think that everyone has a right to be here, regardless of if they have a connection that can handle online play or not.
The forums should be fun. If not, why do they exist?
