What if the ancient people and us have just interpretted (sp?) this "light" as something divine? It may have a natural explanation, but because we can't understand it, we call it celestial, God, Jesus Christ...What the heck?
What most matters me is that why did God wait so many years to send Moses, Jesus & co. ? Why did the Earth have to go through so many climate changes, so many species that once ruled and then were destroyed, before finally mankind came around? I mean, we're talking about 4,5 milliard (billion?) year here.
And why does God just sit back and watch people killing each other in His name? Is He willing to change that but not able? Then He's not omnipotent. Is He able, but not willing? Then He's malevolent. Is He both able and willing? Then why does it go on? Is He neither willing nor able? Then why call Him God? -EpicurusAnd why did God create mankind after all? To watch hungry kids and overweighted fat bastards? What's the point of Heaven and Hell?
And don't give me bull like "Go read the Bible the answers are there =)", because the Bible is an aged book written about the basic values of life and its purpose is to be a moral guide, just like the Kuran or Tora (what's the name of the Jew holy book?).
"Especially awe-inspiring is the fact that any single brain is made up of atoms that were forged in the hearts of countless stars billions of years ago... These atoms now form a conglomerate – your brain – that can not only ponder the very stars that gave it birth but can also think about its own ability to think and wonder about its own ability to wonder. With the arrival of humans…the universe has suddenly become conscious of itself. This, truly, is the greatest mystery of all." - Rama
