AMD processors are very good, but at the moment are lagging behind quantitatively, if not qualitatively.
Although, Gwame, if you're looking into killer processors, go buy a PS3, and judge not by the hertz at which a processor operates, as that is a very manipulatable feature that has little to do with the actual speeed of the chip. Although, if you must judge by hertz, the PS3 is operating off the equivalent of a six-core 3.2ghz processor, which is well beyond anything commercial computers have available at the moment (although its strange configuration makes it difficult to work with, which is probably why).
That processor seems to be overkill, but looking to go ten years without an upgrade? That's a bit of a stretch, so I'd take that overkill.
RAM will need upgrading unless you're packing 1 gig of DDR3, which I highly doubt.
I personally don't like Nvidia graphics cards, as I've had a bit of a bad experience or two with them, but the 8800 is one of the most advanced cards on the market, and should last at least 5 years until you should consider replacing it.
600 GB will last you for a hell of a long time, 'nuff said.
Ten years is an
awfully long time to go without upgrading your computer, buckaroo, but that rig could possibly go the distance if you gave it some more RAM. Preferably at least 2 gigs (hell, I've got 2 gigs of DDR1 sitting around here when I get around to replacing my motherboard, and I got those for free...)
