All Praise to the Benevolent Dreadfully Tempestuous Dictator and Il Duce of Neo-Socialist-Arocratic-Republicism: Aro

Welcome one and all, dear sons and daughters of the mighty Arocratic Republic, we are gathered here in the grand plaza dedicated to our leader for an important announcement that will shape the future of our glorious state that embodies the virtues of collective-reasonability and responsibility, the pillars of freedom (but freedom that is restricted for the perpetual glory and sovereignty of the realm and fiefdom of the glorious Neo-Socialist-Arocratic-Republic )!

Of course, as we are all equal we have collective responsibility to work together to broaden the horizons and follow the traditions of Neo-Socialist-Arocratic-Republicism; dissenters, past rulers of tyranny, those who dare bring new customs that impeach unto the ways of Neo-Socialist-Arocratcic-Republicism will be dealt with and sent to the “State Rehabilitation Centre” – founded by hero of Neo-Socialist-Arocratic-Republicism, bleedteal.

We are all comrade, loyal and equal to each other - yet with lend this service and loyalty to the founder of the Arocratic Pary and is the man, whom may rules with an iron fist - but covering that is a velvet glove which he wears for his people; may the enemies of Neo-Socialist-Arocratcic-Republicism feel the iron hand of our Benevolent Dictator: Aro!

  • Speak not of dissent
  • Speak not of decline
  • Wear nothing but rose-tinted spectacles when speaking of the past
  • Speak not of new ideas that threaten Neo-Socialist-Arocratic-Republicism
  • Treat the sovereign entity, which is Splash Splash, as the way it was used for.

Dear brothers and daughter of the grand leader Aro; as we stand in our great nation we must provide that a record of it stands for the length of time through the telling of tales and making lore and legend! Of course, the loving state has taken it upon itself to provide an epic lore, unlike in days of old – this will be a screenplay, not a poem.

Writers interested in collaborating and adding their part to this glorious tale, sign up, and do it for the Aroland!

Lord Basse: For crimes that shows he is one of the bourgeoisie and he was one of the men who believed in a hierarchical structure of Splash Splash. May be released if shows further solidarity to the cause and he will be granted freedom as his crimes will be forgiven.

Epic Commander: Dissenter to the traditions of Neo-Socialist-Arocratic-Republicis and spreading lies about Comrade Oliver. May be fully realised if he embraces the true path. Post 141 shows his dissent, let the collective responsability of the comrades enforce justice.

Warlord002: Lord?! As a self-proclaimed member of the bourgeoisie he must suffer.

Turty: Speaks of dissent, he will remain here until he is active for the cause of Neo-Socialist-Arocratic-Republicism - but insulting the greatness of Splash Splash will mean he will remain here for a long time

    Institution of Criminal Punishment
Under Construction: Hurry comrades, work for the good of our state so we see dissenters face the justice and punishment they deserve

And isn't rap already more widespread than rock?
I'm not so sure it is. Perhaps it's more popular with the current generation, but I can't imagine that it overshadows, for example, the baby boomer generation, who I would assume lean towards some kind of rock. Then there's other countries and all that, and people who don't like either.

    Thank you! It sounds sexy!
Most (not all) rap is talked onto a looping beat. Of course, a lot of music is similarly defined, but rap simply takes it into the extreme. Of course there are others, but oh well...
I can understand your position here, but I still can't help but feel it's, again, based on ignorance. In rap, the emphasis is on the beat. The drums are set up so they accent the rapper's rhymes (it adds emphasis to words that rhyme to keep the rhythm going). The music is centered around the beat, the bass (which is usually more rhythmic than musical) and the artist, just like most metal bands have emphasis on the drums, guitars, and vocalists. However, in rap, their intention is *not* on musical innovation or prowess; rap music is about rhythm, beat, and the rapper's lyrical flow. Almost everything is structured to accent the rapper and the looped beat.

And if you listened to music produced by Dr. Dre or other famous rap producers, you'd notice there's quite a bit of music theory in rap. There's pianos, guitars, bass, *notes being played*, things that could be easily replicated on another instrument. I know the bassline (a bass guitar == my lover) to quite a few rap songs and the piano line to a bunch others, all found on online tab sites. I would say the songs that do not use music theory are the minority, and now that there are laws against heavy sampling, several producers are hiring musicians and creating original music.
Of course, quoting wiki "Music is an art form consisting of sound and silence.", but that could even make simple farting a form of music.
And why can't a fart be music? People thought rock was too loud and simple when it originated, but look at what it spawned. If you can get a fart to sound musical, by all means. I doubt it'll be as popular as any established genre though, given the difficulty to play the instrument required... night after night after night after night....
I said good bands and artists. The good songs I've heard from Zeppelin weren't metal.
See, Basse is showing a perspective that's similar to yours, Morgoth: he hasn't heard any metal songs he liked, thus he doesn't like metal. Are we going to blame this on the metal genre being complete crap, or Basse's inexperience with the genre?
This so called "Gangsta" rap just poisons the minds of our young.
OK, tell ya what: it poisons the minds of our young just as metal has, rock has, video games have, pop has, the daily news has, and any other type of thought that isn't deemed "correct". And for the record, this planet is still flat and the center of the universe, right? Lest we challenge conventional thought!

Responsibility should be placed on the parents to keep kids away from this type of music until they are able to process it as any normal human being will: it is to be viewed as a *diverse perspective*. If you're hearing about a guy shooting up a rival rapper's baby's momma's house, you should know that it's not what *you think*, but it's always interesting to hear those stories or learn how others think. I didn't agree with the reasons It killed little children in Steven King's book, but it was a great book. My little brother didn't steal cars and kill people after he played Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, but he had tons of fun playing the game. I don't agree with everything I hear on the news, in politics, anywhere, but I listen to it anyway because you can't learn if you only know a single perspective.

Sometimes kids will hear this music even if parents do try and shelter them, but at the end of the day, it's just music; inevitably kids will see dead bodies, cars totalled, hear about kidnappings, murders, wars, gang fights, riots, but it's an *experience*. Being sheltered will not solve anything and neither will the attempted removal of everything our society deems bad. A child that's raised properly will understand that they don't really want to be a gangster. Look at the conditions in those neighborhoods that have those kids who are influenced the most; instead of raising millions to bring rappers to court for lyrics, why not start a charity to help feed those families, educate those children, bring laws to congress that help out the poor, solutions that are *realistic*, unlike the endorsement of "thought-crimes".

Poisons the mind of our young... I believe thought conservativism poisons the mind of our young. An open mind is what our society should be aiming for, not fighting against.

This is exactly why I don't like it. If music is based on a beat, it becomes way too monotonous for me.

I really laughed at this part until I understood that you were comparing farting to rock. Therefore, I refuse to carry on this subject unless I simply misunderstood that sentence.

Then don't like it. Easy as that. There's no need for you to accuse people who do enjoy it of not listening to "real music". You get defensive when somebody makes a negative remark about metal because you enjoy metal, correct? That's exactly how us rap fans feel.
I really laughed at this part until I understood that you were comparing farting to rock. Therefore, I refuse to carry on this subject unless I simply misunderstood that sentence.
It was a joke (holy hell, points just fly right over your head, don't they?), but understand that music is sound, and before the blues, the guitar/drums/bass setup wasn't even close to the norm. What can be used to make music is limited only by imagination. I did *not* compare the act of farting to rock, I said that it's possible to manipulate sound in order to make music, even if it's not sound from a conventional instrument.

A dozen wild turkeys came walking into my backyard yesterday and started tapping their beaks on the patio door. Startled me seeing all the birds there at first, but with only a thought, I ran to my room, grabbed a broadsword, and charged into the backyard, scattering the birds before they could poop all over and running them back into the woods.

Until yesterday, I didn't even realize wild turkeys moved in flocks o.O

I never really got why turkeys gave as much food as sheep. You'd think sheep would have more meat. Granted, I greatly prefer mutton to turkey, so I might be prejudiced.
So rock tells us to sleep with ho's and be "gansta" and join the mob?
No, it "tells us" to heavily use drugs, have copious amounts of casual sex, and commit random acts of violence and anarchy. Some of it even "tells us" to worship Satan.
