I want to upload my songs to YouTube, and I've seen plenty of videos there where it was just audio with a single picture OR slideshow instead of actual video.
What program do they use to do that? ...if anyone knows.
I don't know. I only started using it after I got my XP computer. It's automatically got a shortcut in the All Programs section of the Start Menu, right below Windows Messenger.
Since your computer is nearly 10 years old, maybe it runs Windows 98?

If I recall correctly, there is one browser-based video-making program out there that may help you out.

Doesn't YouTube have a video editor on their website? I've never used it though, so I'm not sure if you can add video to mp3 files.

..and in that regard, if you cannot run notepad that means it cannot support GUI software. So, it's a command terminal. I think surfing the web is kinda hard by DOS. However, it is possible to order pizza using it.

From memory, VLC has the ability to convert from one format to another. It won't give you video editing functionality, but if you just want to convert from Audio to Video, it will probably do it.
It also plays almost every single file format you've ever come across.

I think it can only change container, not the actual format. So in that sense, it may still be able to add an audio file to a video container, but YouTube won't accept it. I tried this before - turns out you have to put text or an image in the video.
Quoted from Fadawah:
For the sake of man and beast alike, don't use WMM. I use Sony Vegas these days
Why not? WMM suits the purposes of the majority. For someone who merely wants to upload a song to YouTube, it's perfect. Sony Vegas is obviously better when you learn to use it, but that's like saying someone should use Photoshop instead of Paint, when all they want to do is draw stickmen.

Its as buggy as a bug farm. I lost count of the number of times it crashes on me.
That depends on what you're doing. If you're making a video from scratch and are not importing strange formats, it should be fine. If you import too many images, it will also crash. But for this situation, which is simply one mp3 and one image, it should do fine.
Oh, WMM is usable, but maybe RIP would be better off with something else. I've tried to do the same thing as he is, and I encountered a bug where the mp3 audio of my video would periodically drop out for seemingly no reason. Maybe it works great for you, but no more WMM for me, thanks.
