Hi fellow Agers! So HeavenGames is working on making a number of t-shirts with the HG logo on the front and some sort of amusing or interesting text on the back. I've been trying to think of ideas for shirts that could be created for you guys at Age of Kings Heaven; would you all be able to give me any thoughts on my one idea, tell me which t-shirts you might be willing to get, and if you have any suggestions for any other t-shirts? That'd be awesome.

So basically, we'd get specialized shirts? Nice.

Where is the sweatshop making the shirts, though?

We're looking at a number of "Cafe Press"-type companies. Right now www.customdropshipper.comlooks like the best one; they do provide fairly good rates.
No. Just, no.
Do you not like my one idea, or the idea of customized AoKH shirts?

Neither. Gwame is getting old and senile, and thought he was posting in a thread nominating Aro for president.

I think that all we need on our AoKH t-shirts is the phrase "Scud is a n00b."

No, seriously, if AoKH has a custom t-shirt, it would absolutely have to, in some way, capture the hilarious, lovable eccentricity that all the forumers here possess. Perhaps a few references to Splash Splash would accomplish that; Splash Splash is, IMO, one of the most unique things about this heaven. Maybe you could add a kind of shout-out to a few of the most famous scenarios / campaigns in the history of this heaven. Maybe a few kind of clipped screenshots from the scenario editor; I'm pretty sure that everyone in this heaven has, at some point, designed or attempted to design a scenario.

Those are just a few ideas from one of many AOKHers, we'll have to see what everyone else says.

First of all, your idea really just promotes social awkwardness and worried stares. Second, who wants a t-shirt from a game discussion website anyway? Especially one centered around RTS games. I don't mean to sound like the "You guys are losers" immature high-school guy, but come on, seriously.

I feel the awkwardness as well. I mean, sure, the web has become more time consuming (like Youtube, Flash games, social networking), but I'd feel more comfortable "What's AoKH stays in AoKH", I don't need to wear a T-shirt to enjoy it...I don't think I have that kind of allegance. Sure, maybe for a moderator or administrators, but I be a wee game fan. It kinda spurs the spirit of fanboyism.

Alright, maybe to be a fan of something is ok. But to be a fan of a fansite which itself is a conglomeration of fans of of something's kinda odd. Suddenly, it becomes stranger to say what you fancy doing. See, sites like Jynx or Snorg are alright since you can readily call out their "geeky" references, but games such as these are more limited in scope...

However "geeks" and "nerds" are becoming more welcome in 21st society as compliments, not insults...Humanity is in a great transition in technology, but I still feel strange wearing a shirt like this (the jokes kinda mediocre, IMHO. Why not a tower flush or something? Joan of Arc reference?).

Seems your ambitious to get them to print, so I'll try not to judge too harshly . If the art of the very shirt you're describing is ok, then I guess it could fly.

But you're not the target market.

Solivago makes a good point as well. Keep AoKH in AoKH. There is really no point whatsoever from an average HG user's point of view. Sure, maybe the HG staff wants more advertising (wrong way to go about it, by the way), but the rest of us have found advertisements to be a nuisance lately. Remember that ad that basically fµcked up your browser?

Anyway, you won't get any real answers till you show us a preview of the shirt. Make a sample (even Photoshop one?) and post an image here. You either like a shirt, or you don't, and personally I don't decide based on brands or content, I just buy it if I like it.

I'd be willing to get some sort of Age of Kings Heaven t-shirt just because I enjoy looking attractive when I look in the mirror.

What will the price range be for these t-shirts, and will they be available at some sort of HG Online Store? Any template shirts you can show us so we can get a better idea on what they could look like? Also, if we pay extra, could we be able to get the autograph of specific HG higher-ups if we pay a little extra?

BTW Soccy, you're my boss! Hi!! Can I become a Halo plz?! Or can you be the Chief Executive of "Aro-Net Relations"?
I wear my HG t-shirt in public all the time.
I wouldn't be willing to wear a shirt; I have pride in my position here at HG (village idiot), but I hate logos. AoKH is, of course, different since it's like a sibling to me. Or a child.

The hats, of course, are known to be very, very attractive! I met my girlfriend while wearing my HG hat! AND YOU CAN TOO!
But you're not the target market.
That's true, and I understand your arguments on social-awkwardness completely. I honestly wouldn't have worn an HG t-shirt while I was in school just because of the significance of logos (which is why I choose to wear shirts with no logos), and how goofy a "it's my favorite game discussion website" explanation sounds. However... if I could wear the shirt while wearing my online "mask", sure, why not?

Why should I wear an Age of Kings T-shirt, I like my HG T-shirt and hat. Would Bill Gates change his Microsoft T-shirt against one of Ensemble Studios?

Patriotism towards your site. The network's great, but AoKH kicks everyone else's metaphorical behind.

I'd never buy a T-shrt personally. If someone wants me to promote them, they should be paying me, and not the other way around.

Maybe for the text you could have something short and sweet, like "Monk! I need a monk!"

The only problem I see is that I feel no specific bond to HeavenGames particularly. Sure, I'd like an AOKH t-shirt with something witty that Scud said. And a picture of Scud how I imagine he looks like.

My girlfriend just got me t-shirts from TopatoCo, the Professor Science, Loch Ness Monster and the Robot is angry t-shirts. I LOVE THEM

Well I can't really tell if you're both joking or not, and the lack of smilies doesn't help. Thus, assuming you're both serious, I'll say he's probably referring to AoKH t-shirts, not t-shirts in general.

The price probably will be something like $15, as we'll be going through an online site like Cafepress (http://www.customdropshipper.com. The base prices for the site are lower than Cafepress but still pretty costly, so HG would only be making a couple dollars off of each shirt; our main motive would be to make it affordable to everyone so everyone could get a shirt, not make handfuls of money

As far as a template, we're currently working on the logo, so I wouldn't be able to show anything right now. I will show it when the logo is done, though.

The best part of not using smilies is that you make your writings effectively poetry. People can interpret it the way they want. I thought my post was unbelievably ridiculous but I'll be even more ridiculous in the future.
