Oh my - its been so long I can't remember dates. We started playing the AoE trial version in 2000 that came on a modem CD - the computer was so old the trial version of Rise of Rome would crash it - so we upgraded to a better computer to play it.
Then we discovered AoK gold edition and had to upgrade the computer again to play it. I searched for "how to play AoK" and found this site. Lurked here quite a bit. Played some IP games with our friend.
Then our friend wanted us to join a gaming forum - and they had a small space devoted to this game. I made an account here at AoKH to ask if we could reprint some strategies. I think that was either 2003 or 2004.
Was too scared to post here, but diddled around with the other game site and ended up designing several websites for them - was the tournament director and "housekeeper".
When the MSN Zone shut down, that killed the small community, and eventually I posted a link to AoKH from that site. MSN will delete all our work sometime in February. I would love to show off some of the pages I designed (but I don't think I'm allowed to post offsite links.)
I've posted here off an on for a few years (I don't know how to see my join date or post count.) My friends have uploaded RMS maps here - one of them has over 950 downloads.
