Holy shit it's been a looooong time since I started a thread.

Right now my megafactory in Factorio is on hold as I rerun some numbers after miscalculating output requirements and work through a case of the Don't-Wannas about tearing down my current foundry block setup after realizing the bot logistics won't work like I want them to (visually I think the foundries look damn good).

I also started playing Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, and it's a somewhat refreshing game to play: no inventory, no quests, puzzles, Norse mythology, and a combat system that's both intuitive and aggravating. The inability to jump I'm still trying to get over though.

So, the details for the minecraft server I have running with some of the old Blackforest crew is at 192 dot 99 dot 62 dot 43 colon 25572, with the modpack FtB Infinity Evolved: https://www.feed-the-beast.com/projects/ftb-infinity-evolved

You'll need the legacy windows or legacy mac launcher. Let me know your minecraft username through any means and I'll have you whitelisted.

Actually, my little ponies and Popura-chan... I was thinking of doing a livestream this weekend. Say, Saturdayish. A game I wanted to stream a while ago has mysteriously begun working again.

What time frame, EDT, works best for y'all on Saturday for watching Moff lead brave men and women to their horrific demises at the hands of invading aliens?

Bonus points: there's no animu. <_<

I assure you that my XCOM 'skillz', as you so quaintly put it, are quite sane, Commander. My propensity to abuse time travel until events occur in a fashion I deem acceptable, however, is prolific. That said, I will offer advice when requested.

btw, anyone wanting to join the minecraft server will need to set a memory limit of at least 4GB in the launcher. It's a ram hungry modpack

Factorio
I actually got into that game briefly 1,5 months ago. Played it with a friend for about 40 hours within 6 days (had 3 holidays + weekend) and we had a real blast. After sending the satellite into space we lost the urge to play and when trying a new map for 2 hours we also lost the fun there. Didn't play it since then.
Minecraft
I remember it being a great game before they changed the map generation in 2011 or what it was, didn't play it properly since then. However, I started writing a mod for it some time ago to practice Java. Definitely fun, but a pain in the ass to work with all those interfaces (not in Java terms, but in MC forge terms). I'd probably be down to join a server (I believe we had that idea 4 years ago, too, but nothing ever came out of it), even though I'm completely snowed under with work/uni stuff and while that still allows for some free time, Minecraft is a very time consuming game and I'd feel pretty bad about it.

I've been playing quite a bit of Arma 3 lately with a mostly eastern European squad, it's an incredibly fun way to spend your sunday evening, I must say. Thanks again to Major Helper gifting me Arma: Cold War Assault (Originally called Operation Flashpoint before the re-branding) almost 4 years ago. I only got Arma 3 a few months ago but that game introduced me to this great series. (And still beats its successors in several aspects.)

Edit: And of course, some AoE2, too. (After a very long break, I must say.)
Currently streaming sometimes on the AIScripters twitch channel, where others and I play against modern AIs written for this game.

Been playing Civ III recently, although I'm not sure I have the patience for that game.

Recently, someone made this crazy Star Wars mod for Civ III.

Civ III remains my favourite civ for single player and for modding/scenarios to this day. It's just so lovely from the interface over graphics and music to the general design. Definitely one of my top 10 games ever, in the upper places. Amazing to see that someone made a mod for it even now! The most recent one I was aware was the 1989 WW3 mod by AnthonyBoscia (an amazing scenario with a mind blowing attention to detail).

Urgh, apparently the Minecraft downloading system has changed since the last time I used it. Need to migrate my account to this Mojang site, but I have no idea what my username for Minecraft was and I've already tried all the usual variants of my name already...

EDIT: maybe found the username by going through the old emails, but I've too many failed attempts now... Grawr!

The Third World War scenario is absolutely amazing, but I simply can't be bothered to micro-manage the unholy number of units available to any nation worth playing.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I certainly will never play as the USSR with their 4.000 pre-placed units.

I did play it as Greece, though, that was pretty cool. Trying to hold my position as good as possible while watching the war unfold in Central Europe with both sides controlled by AI. Still meant some very long loading times between turns, but not nearly as bad as if I actually had to see the animations or movement.

When designing in-depth scenarios in Civ 3 (with mods and all), I would often place myself one additional civ hidden away behind some mountains next to ocean or so, to play as that civ with debug mode on, so I could watch the scenario be played with all players being AI.

Rising from the dead to post my latest game experiences...

I recently finished a 80ish hour coop run of Divinity:Original Sin with my brother. We don't live together so it's taken us well over a year to finish. Still, it was an awesome game. We may try to play the second one but RealLife(tm) is going in such a way it might not be reasonable to even start.

Still, it was an awesome if sometimes obtuse game. Along the way I learned that if I put stardust herb in a mortar and pestle I could make stardust. Similarly a bone or skull in a mortar and pestle makes bonedust. Combine the two dusts to get pixie dust. Sprinkle pixie dust on a second skull to make a magical skull. Then combine two hairs to make a thread...thread the magic skull on the thread to make a +1 intelligence amulet. Go any different direction along the way and make any of a thousand different things, or nothing at all, and none of it is explained at all really. It's surprisingly archaic but still overall a top notch party based rpg.

Otherwise, the last game I played was God of War in the summer. It was, quite simply, flawless.

D:OS2 is a good game too, as far as I've played it. Unfortunately I kinda lost the drive to play it once I got past the first area, because I did things in such a weird order and way in the mainland, that I just can't be bothered with the quests anymore

Wait you're giving out games?
If no one else signs up for Overwatch I'd gladly take it.

Also, kinda related: Anyone knows a game, you played as a mining truck of sorts, you moved up down left right, with birdeye view. enemies were various cars, you could drill holes with a drill in front and had 4 wepaons. Timed bomb, a bomb that dropped from top of screen down, a mine and a rocket.

I loved it and I cant find it. This was in 2005-6ish.

Does anyone remember agar.io? The blob game where you eat the smaller blobs?

http://agar.io/

It's virtually unplayable now, in a strangely enjoyable way. It's packed with teamers who are very difficult to fight as a solo player: but this adds a fatalistic element I quite like. Dying is a certainty: the only question is how high you can get on the scoreboard.

Aye, it's been like you described for as long as I've known it. The only way those big ones are going down is if they overextend or wind up near those green spiky things. I prefer Slither.io, similar concept but mixed with Snake so you have a shot at winning even if you're smaller.
