The UP AI Scripting Ladder

Welcome to the third continuous installment of the AoKH AI Scripting Ladder, now supporting Userpatch for the first time. Here you can enter your AI to compete against AIs with a wide range of abilities and a huge range of strategies. Whether it's to improve your AI's skill or whether you want to enjoy the exciting fun and community it provides, the Userpatch AI scripting ladder will suit your needs.

The Userpatch (UP) is a community patch that provides enormous benefits to the game, allowing AIs to become exponentially more intelligent, among others. Click here to download the patch and learn about everything the Userpatch can do! You'll find many scripters here who are more than willing to help you learn how to script and how to use the new UP commands.

Also, if you enjoy scripting, you should join the AI scripters community at http://forums.aiscripters.com/. You can also find a guide to AI scripting here and a guide to the new UP commands here.

How Do I Join?

If you want to enter the ladder, just drop a post in the thread with a link to your AI, tell us what civ you want it to play, and your AI will be added to the ladder.

When you enter your AI, it will play four unrated games against different opponents and given a rating based on its performance. Once your AI has been given a rating, your AI is ready to enter round play and climb up the ladder.

New: Each forummer can only have one AI in the ladder at any time.

How Does the Ladder Work?

Like multiplayer ladders, the AI ladder determines an AI script's overall skill ability over the course of several games and compares the skill ratings of other AIs to each other.

The AI Ladder uses the ELO system, the same system used to rank chess players or players on online gaming sites such as Voobly. The ladder is run in rounds with each AI grouped in a league of (ideally) five AIs according to ability. During each round, each AI will play each other AI in its league twice. The winning AI's score in each match will be increased according to its opponent's score, either a large amount if the AI defeated a higher ranked opponent or a smaller amount if the AI defeated a lower ranked opponent. The losing AI's score is decreased in the same way. Once the round is over, a new one begins, creating continuous cycles of competitive fun.

To make things more interesting, we randomize between Arabia, Ghost Lake, Gold Rush, Mongolia, Oasis, and Yucatan. To facilitate the randomization, you can download the official AI Ladder random map randomizer to test your AI and to test matches: link

AI Classes:

New: All AIs are divided into leagues according to ability, with ideally 5 AIs in each league. The leagues are reorganized at the end of each round to re-sort the AIs into the leagues by ability.

If an AI is the lowest-ranked AI, has at least 75 points lower than every other AI, and has lost at least three games in a row, the AI will likely be dropped unless the author requests the AI to remain in the ladder.

Game Requests:

New: Requested games no longer count for score, but they can be requested nevertheless.

Previous AI Ladders:

In addition, for those who like a bit of nostalgia, you can find the previous installments of the AI scripting ladder here:

Schedule:

Anyone can judge any of the games in the AI ladder, and judges do not have to sign up for a game before playing it. However, you may make a post in the thread if you wish to reserve a game to judge. Those who are willing to judge and record these games, please post for which games you would like to play. Authors should not judge games that contain their own AI. All games should be played on Hard difficulty, tiny map, 200 pop, Dark Age, low resources, and Conquest victory. The current version of the Userpatch (version 1.4) and the official randomizer map script should be used. Games will be considered a draw if they last more than two hours, unless an AI has less than 2 villagers at the two hour mark. Thus, you can end the game after two hours if you wish.

It is recommended that the judges cheat "natural wonders" so that there is no possibility of interference from the judge. However, if you feel that this would hamper your ability to review the game you may opt not to do this, as long as you provide the recorded game.

If you decide to use Cheat Engine's speedhack feature, please limit your games to x5 speed on Slow speed or x3 speed on Fast speed, unless one AI has clearly won the game and you want to speed up the "cleaning up" process. Any faster speedhack is prone to mess up AI functionality on slower computers.

Once the game is finished, please write a short review of the game. Provide helpful comments on what were each AI's weak points so that the authors of the scripts can know how to update them. Also post the recorded game link along with the review. To make it easier for us to gather information from the reviews, please post the reviews of the games in this format (just copy it into your post and edit it):

fatal, if in lack of food feudal age is delayed and you're under attack already before you can get anything up to defend.

well done Promi ! better luck next time, Eel.

Chameleon (Full Random => Chinese) vs. The Khanate (Full Random => Britons)
Map Type: Gold Rush

Chameleon chose Marathon archery attack stretegy and Khanate flushed with skirmishers and few spearmen. Khanate tried to place a forward tower once it advanced feudal age but lost 6 builders one after another against 4 wolves in the middle. Khanate finished the tower after all and attacked Chameleon, but it was able to defend against trash units with villagers.

Chameleon arrived to castle age at 20:50 and almost immediately built 3 TCs. Khanate added archers and attacked again. For some reason Chameleon started making pikemen from triple (!) barracks though its enemy had no cavalry. Those pikemen weren't able to defend well against archers + skirmishers and Chameleon received a lot of unnessesary damage.

Khanate advanced imperial age first and then Chameleon after couple of minutes. Khanate attacked with Arbalests and rams, but they died quickly against tons of skirmishers from Chameleon. Chameleon's army drove Khanate's gold miners away from the middle and killed almost all Khanate's villagers which wanted to build different buildings in the central area. Khanate resigned after its population dropped under 20.

Winner: Chameleon

IS_machine (Full Random => teutons) vs. Boss (Full Random => Byzantines)
Map Type: Mongolia

The game was pretty one sided, IS_machine has been launching attacks all game long with Boss barely beeing able to hold them everytime. Boss never upgraded his skirms or spearman although he had loads of the both of them.

Winner (IS_Machine)
Game time (53:01)

The_Unknown (Full Random => Aztec) vs. Noseratu (Vikings)
Map Type: Yucatan

The_Unknown goes for a fast castle and Nosferatu for a flush. Nosferatu starts of with a tower 7 tiles away from The_Unknown's tc which get taken down quickly. a second tower goes up for Nosferatu and troops are around The_Unknown also now. Unknown reaches castle age and does nothing, it makes several random mining-camps not making anything else. Despite the_unknown reaching 0 population it never resigns...

Notes: Nosferatu: After its first house all houses where placed 15+ tiles in the back giving quite some idle walking time

Winner (Nosferatu)
game time (42:27)

Nightmare (byzantine) vs. Flash myn (Mayans)
Map Type: Mongolia

Both AI's went for a fast castle, Nightmare beeing noteable faster at it. Having 3 stables to quickly get out some knights. But here he decided his first upgrade is Husbandry. So he attacked with his faster knights letting them all die in the TC of flash myn. Nightmare at this point was not behind yet, but it didnt make any economic upgrades besides wheel-barrow & hand-cart. Also it kept trying to make lumber / mining camps behind Flash myn losing about 5 vills needlessly. Flash myn then decided to attack with his army of Eagles and crossbows which won the fight cutting off Nightmare's front gold spots. Flash myn kept pushing and ended the game in 40:09

Notes: Nightmare upgrade order / closer camp distance could have won you the game.
Notes: Flash myn: 21 min FC made you vunerable. specialy since no real troops or upgrades where present yet when reaching the castle age. consider making upgrades while upping. And also for you upgrade order. fletching comes before archer-armor and crossbow upgrade also.

Winner (Flash Myn)

txs for judging all that games Armeleon.

Rob's script is quite outdated, one of the 1st submissions.
Only added some UP stuff, no boosting.
Wasn't such a bad script that time.
Offwo's scripts quite building spammer Ais (even built TC in my village): He never took that out, maybe other interests or no time.
If you use TSA then you got lost here.

My luck that Nos got him early otherwise no chance to keep up with his vill output (on Oasis I would had died) . An imperial boomer AI. I wondered myself that Nos had won vs Aztecs here.

Oh those houses, yes, my personal style....may they walk a bit

The Horde (Full Random => Aztec) vs. Daedric (Full Random => Maya)
Map Type: Mongolia

Both AIs go for a flush, Daedric trains archers while Horde trains skirms. Even though The Horde has the superior army composition (in a direct fight) he also used his villagers to suicide-attack into Daedrics attacking archers before the skirms killed all enemy archers. This way The Horde lost about 5 villagers to an otherwise completely harmless attack.
Daedric reacts by training skirmishers too and from that point on endless fighting ensues.
Daedric was up earlier in every age, but this was only really impacting the game when he advanced to the imperial age earlier and trained arbalests vs Horde's longswordsmen and crossbows.
In between The Horde made a good decision by training mangonels vs Daedrics purely ranged army, but it was already too late for that (although The Horde did manage to take down two castles and a town-center before Daedric went to perform the final strike on Horde's town).

Winner: Daedric
Game time: 01:02:27

Recorded game: https://app.box.com/s/1zq7ph6ob5qns84e0e1r

Notes Horde: The longswordsmen only had one armor upgrade and were trained against an enemy who didn't ever trained one eagle warrior but went for full ranged units instead => The LSM didn't have any positive effect at all. Also if your villagers simply ran to safety in the feudal age you would have had a really good shot at winning this game.
Notes Daedric: Daedric trained spearmen in the castle-age, even as meatshield for the crossbow army i don't really think that it's worth it against a meso-civ enemy who only really had crossbows and a couple of eskirms himself at that point.

TRON (Mongols) vs. Crusade (Full Random => Huns)
Map Type: Oasis

Both AI's went for a flushing set-up crusade beeing the first to attack with forward towers and a nice army size. this seemed to be working perfectly untill he suicided everything inside tc + defensive tower. Some later he tried it again with a double forward tower and his army. But non of the towers went up and his army died again due to fighting in defensive towers. Now Massive bugging started for Crusade, their was one vill of his still forward only beeing attacked by a single skirm trying to build towers over and over. requesting everytime new builders from the home town, something like 15+ builders walked all the way to TRON's town and then tried to get back to safety, half of them didnt make it. Crusade kept trying to attack the now castled TRON and actualy didnt do so bad for feudal vs castle. Not beeing able to do any damage though. Crusade now decided to build towers at home and start trying to get a higher soldier count, showing no sign of wanting to go up to castle age. So the castled TRON decided to attack at 40 minutes, but this attack got stopped by the still feudal Crusade, he lost all his army in the process though. and Crusade decided to just mass up feudal-age army again. TRON attacked again several minutes later and destroyed Crusade.
Crusade didnt seem to be willing to resign despite beeing 0 population and got defeated...

Chameleon (Full Random => Mongols) vs. Crusade (Full Random => Koreans)
Map Type: Gold Rush

Chameleon uses MuRRay Rage.

Chameleon tries to FC against Crusade's flush. By some reason Chameleon trains pikemen against m@a+archers. Most Crusade's attackers die to TC and a couple of knights. Chameleon is able to defend itself until Crusade enters castle age.

At castle age Crusade's numbers grow too large for Chameleon to defend. Chameleon gets a castle up just in time, but it neglects villager production too. Eventually Crusade rams Chameleon's castle down, and there's nothing defending Chameleon's town any more.

Boss (Full Random => Britons) vs. Nosferatu (Vikings)
Map Type: Mongolia

Both AI's up to feudal age with 28 population. Nosferatu makes 2 defensive towers and tries to attack with 3 spearman + 2 archers. The archers turn around a few seconds before they reach the enemy to gather inside the towers at home.

The 3 spearman took out a villager, not doing any serious damage. Boss doesn't do much in feudal-age and decides to go to the castle-age pretty fast. Nosferatu at that point goes for the offensive with several offensive towers this time.

This was quite effective, luring boss his troops into the towers. Here some bugg (for the 3rd time?) Seems to apear though, archer wanne gather inside the tower but instantly get kicked out again and this keeps going on for a while.

Boss doesnt seem to care much whats going on exactly though, he just keeps making a small amount of milatia and skirmishers lacking upgrades, while focusing more on his eco. At some point he decides its time to clear up the towers and does so with xbows. This doesnt harm him as much if it should have because the gather inside/trow them out thing still seems to be looping.

Theirs no real castle-age fighting besides clearing up those forward towers, both AI's mass up their army's and advance to the imperial age at pretty similar times.

Here is where a fatal looping error occurs for Nosferatu that makes it impossible for his army to fight. and caused him to lose verry quickly in a for the rest fair fight.

Notes Boss: Army upgrades, going to castle age quickly has few effect if you keep fighting with a feudal-age army. And perhaps some sell rules as you had 3k food in castle age, could have upped several minutes faster.
Nosferatu: I suggest you watch this record and search what loop is stuck, the game could have been yours! Also at some point you made 5 mining camps in a little cluster.

txs for that nice review, Armeleon.

that bug I've removed today, too late lol !
Indeed Nos misses any late game code, simply too lazy to add one ATM, and got stuck to OSM again.
I really shall work on this !

Oh! our community decided that the judge can break the game at any time he thinks that the winner is absolute clear.
That's why some scripts miss the resign code.

Flash myn (Mayans) vs. The Kahnate (Full random => Franks)
Map Type: Gold Rush

The kahnate went for a drush which followed the villagers straith into the tc. Flash myn went for a FC ish thing. Despite drushing The Kahnate reached castle age first.
Khanate having a huge army advantage for a long time but doesnt attack. Flash myn tries to attack around 30 mins but gets destroyed. and survives because of having a defensive castle just intime. The khanate now clicks up to imp, and suicides the army he still has into flash myns castle. When he reaches imp he tries it again but without taking a single upgrade from imperial-age. And so this basicly goes on and on and on... At some points Flash myn manages to click up to imperial, and has alot of piled up resources but doesnt make more soldier buildings and doesnt even use all his existing ones. 2 archery ranges in imp just didnt cut it. and after a long time the Khanate killed flash myn in rivers of blood from his own death soldiers.

Better now, both had got the GC placed.
NM targeted for a x-bow-rush ( with byz-civ !) while the Unknown started again with E-skimis, both same CA time.
Unknown attacked early and massacred the bzy archers at a moment. dozens of E-Skirmis and some rams later sealed the fate of Nightmare, despite of 3 TCs powered villis.

Promi (Full Random => Chinese) vs. TRON (mongols)
Map Type: Mongolia

Both AI's going for a flush build up. Promi with 3 ranges, TRON with a stable and 2 ranges. Promi tries to attack in feudal but gets pushed back.

Both AI's advance to castle age TRON beeing 17 seconds faster to which TRON attacks. The attack did some damage to a tc going up at the front. But this tc went up anyhow and TRON kept fighting partly in the main tc and in this new tc. losing alot of troops.

TRON tried to attack some more but couldnt get any damage done. Promi mean while focused more on his eco and reaching imperial-age.

Promi reached Imp and this is the time TRON deceided to put up another larger attack. It picked Promi's defensive castle as its main target, and this became a massive suicide ground without promi's troops needing to do anything. TRON did retreat though before losing his entire army.

Promi attacked with full trash + some siege and this almost got halted by TRON. After several minutes of fighting Promi got more imperial-age upgrades and the fight was over for sure. TRON did advance tot he imperial-age but couldn't do anything with it anymore.

In the feudal-age nothing happens both AI's mass up a medium army and advance, the Horde beeing slightly faster and that deceided the game.

As soon the horde reaches castle-age he attacks, overwhelms the defending troops and from that point forward its just a finishing off.

Winner: The Horde

Daedric 1.3a (FR => Britons) vs Barbarian 2.15b (FR => Mongols)

A Green Arabia map this time, with large hills in front of both towns.

Daedric went for m@a and skirms vs Barbarian's scouts. Both send their armies, Daedric in a loosely grouped vs Barbie's DUC. Barbarian killed a lumberjack and then decided it's better to be save than sorry and retreated. The Mongols added archers to their scouts and won a battle in front of their town due to better unit supply and having hill advantage. Barbie then did a counter attack, and came out ahead huge on points, but again decided not to take any risks, retreat and age up. Instead he could deny both forward gold piles from Daedric for much longer.

When Barbrian advanced to castle age, he attacked Daedric's stone camp. Daedric finally also reached castle age and tried it's best to defend, but he lost lots villagers everywhere quickly.

Winner: Barbrian

Boss (Full random => Franks) vs. IS_Machine (Full Random => Japanese)
Map Type: Gold Rush

Boss had a verry weird second boar, compleetly with one villager. Both AI's went for a feudal-age fighting with man-at-arms and skirms mainly.

The feudal-age fights where pretty undeceided, IS_machine upped about 2 mins earlier to castle-age and with that advantage he cleared up boss its army.

Yet this didnt end the game because IS_Machine didnt send reinofrcements to his attackers. Some later IS_machine attacked again. Boss might have holded this attack with alot less damage, if he upgraded his skirms & man-at-arms.

IS_machine again didnt send backup to his attacking army and so this attack also got holded sort of.

And so IS_Machine attacked again some later with rams this time. Boss still not having elite-skirmishers. and this time boss got breached and the clean up started. Boss didnt resign and got defeated 54:38

Kinda weird everything is exactly the same despite everything beeing random.

Chameleon started booming with 2 tc's while getting all army upgrades without actualy having army. The_Unknown boomed with 4 tc's and that kinda says it all i supose.

Clear win for The_Unknown. Ended the game at 42:01 for Chameleon having 0 pop and no market, and The_Unknown picking houses as its main target.

Nosferatu (Vikings) vs. The_Khanate (Full Random => Franks)
Map Type: Oasis

I used version "Nosferatu V3_72.7z" latest version? as theirs a * with it.

Nosferatu went for a FC and The_Khanate went for a slow castle. Nosferat went for 2 stables and double forward siege workshop, also added in a third stable. how fast the first siege workshop went forward was risky, but The_Khanate had nothing anyhow.

The_Khanate had a huge amount of wood / gold but no food to up to the castle-age. neither did it add anything else in feudal-age. Thought it might have been a bugg, so i ran the game again on a new Oasis map but exactly the same happend.

Clear and easy win for Nosferatu.

Notes: Nosferatu had 1.3k stone but never added a castle. Also it started making mining-camps inside its enemy verry early.
Notes: The_Khanate made about 8 tiles of wall and then abonded this thought compleet or something (also in both games)

The Horde (Full Random => Persians) vs. TRON (Mongols)
Map Type: Ghost Lake

Horde originally decides to krush but switches to skirm+spear flush after detecting TRON's flush.

Brand new Horde uses DUC to attack, but army seems to stop once in a while by some reason. Horde's army is sent between TRON's mining camp and house, and they get killed by TRON's scouts and archers.

Both AIs hit castle age at same time, and TRON attacks immediately. LC+xbow is efficient against Horde's mix of units, and Horde gets badly damaged from the attack.

Second wave of invaders hits Horde after a moment of peace, but this time Horde has bodkin arrow whereas TRON still doesn't. Horde's scorpions are also efficient against ranged units, and Horde is able to counter the attack more easily.

TRON gathers army for third attack, and with greater numbers than Horde it manages to break Horde's defence.

Winner: TRON

Flash Myn (Mayans) vs. Nightmare (Byzantines)
Map Type: Oasis

Flash hunts deer 15 tiles from TC at 4min and starts mining stone at 5min. Flash's maximum-food-drop-distance isn't enough to reach berries, and it requires foragers to build a mill (and a mill to build lumber camp), so it gets stuck.

Nightmare on the other hand advances properly but seems to bug and not train army. It patrols a monk-with-relics next to Flash's TC and attacks with a group consisting of a monk and a ram.

Nightmare hits 28min imp with 1 TC, and trains a few cavaliers. Nightmare razes Flash's TC but its army then gets stuck in patrol at Flash's remainings. Flash rebuilds TC elsewhere.

However Nightmare starts to train cataphracts, and a cataphract chases Flash's miner to TC, and Nightmare finds Flash's new town and razes it. There are not enough survivors, and Flash resigns.

Winner: Nightmare

Daedric (Full Random => Chinese) vs. Juggernaut (Huns)
Map Type: Mongolia

Daedric went for a pure skirmisher flush vs Juggernaut's FC. Usually a flush would have had good chances to decide the game in its commander's favor here, but Daedric only used skirmishers which don't do a lot vs villagers (especially without human micro) and even less to the knights which followed because of reason 1.
The knights simply killed the skirmishers and razed buildings until Daedric resigned.

Ladder Entrance Game
BruteForce (Full Random => Goths) vs. Crusade (Full Random => Mayans)
Map Type: Ghost Lake

BruteForce keeps one villager at wood, forcing earlier loom. Due to Goth hunting bonus its boar is killed before TC. Crusade on the other hand kills its boar between a straggler tree and a house.

After clicking up to feudal BruteForce mines gold for some time without mining camp. It builds a forward tower on Crusade, whose own tower is cancelled slightly before it is finished. Crusade is unable to keep gather army. BruteForce continues to build towers on Crusade, who is crippled badly.

Crusade shows no interest in resigning.

Game crashes at 0:58:08 (probably by an invalid action of BruteForce), while Crusade has 2 villagers left.

Record

I can rerun the game later if necessary, but BruteForce had practically won it already (although Crusade still had 2 villagers left, which is enough for time limit rule).

Other notes for BruteForce:
-At feudal age it got housed, since it didn't start building a new house enough early.
-It seemed to suffer from some kind of unit reset loop bug.
-TCs were built too far from town.
-It build unnecessary towers at home at castle age
-No unit choice at imperial age.
-Excess stone miners at imperial age (37 at one point).

I consider that Bruteforce has won. With just 2 villies I doubt that Crusade had survived from 58' until 2h limit. I think that we also added a rule to allow judges to "finish" matches if the result was evident even before time limit and with an AI refusing to surrender.

I hadn't added an extra resigning rule because I haven't this problem when I am the judge. The reason is that I only see the recorded game after to finish and record it. I never watch "alive" games because if I do it later I can use Fast Recording botton to get less bored in boring game phases and watch only the interesting ones.

Anyway, I see that some people prefer the emotion of "alive" games, and we need judges, not to make their work more boring. So I'll add an update that extra surrending rule next weekend. In any case it'll be the difference about tie or lose just in a game between thousands. And tie only games which are really lost.

Barbarian (Full Random => Mongols) vs. Promi (Full Random => Aztecs)
Map Type: Mongolia

Both AI's went for a flushing set-up Promi beeing slightly faster and also beeing the first to attack. Since Barbarian had a forward gold which was als hard to reach by his troops Promi did get some villager picks and razed the mining-camp.

Despite this set back Babarian is not defeated and promi beeing the one who lost more sldiers has to get back.

Both AI's advance to the castle-age and focus on the eco.

Both AI's advance to the imperial-age. Promi beeing 3 minutes faster but did not attack yet. When Barbarian reached imperial-age he tries to attack quite fast. After some fighting in the middle Promi started to push Barbarian back.

This push never really stoped and although Barbarian held on for a verry long time seen the situation he had to resign in the end.

Finally Crusa updated to 4.42c version. It now resigs if population < 4, no defensive structures and a maximum of a single town center.

I can't update it with the Google Chrome. Internet Explorer has allowed me, but just with the condition to don't eneter in the main page of AoKH web, instead from a random link. For example a link about a scenario that someone has uploaded to the Blacksmith.

@ Possy. Your AI works now, but I advice you to wait before to enter in the Ladder. Even the Standard AI is much stronger than it because Possy feudals in the 26'. In my opinion you should:

- Study the tutorials that I mentioned you in your thread about Possy in the Blackmsith. Mainly the Training AI.

- To know if it's prepared for the Ladder is easy. Just test it vs the lowest AIs in the ranking. If you have a small chance to defeat them, you AI will be in the lowest ranks but will be prepared.
Anyway, in the tests that you'll need to know how to improve your AI, your first rivals should be old AIs like the Standard AI and later Saiyan, Tiger RM, The Dragon and others. Even the lowest AIs in the Ladder are too strong even to test an AI which is in its first steps.

Anyway don't worry. Every AI starts being weak, but if you learn and work in it Possy or its descendents will be really strong AIs.

Crusade 4.42c (-> aztecs) vs Unfair Steel 3.6 (-> turks)

big smile in Campis' face...

Crusade attacked in feudal with some m&a, no trouble for turks and their scouts.
next attack with spears and archers now, that emerged fatal for the defending turkish scouts.
Unfair Steel seemed now inable to get along with that scenario; not able to adv to castle age neither to get any defenders up.
in conclusion turks under heavy attack despite the aztecs lost many units in TC fire.
that lasted up to the 26th minute when both advanced to the Castle Age. As soon as eagles appeared the fate of the turkish fighting part was sealed.

Second Ladder Entrance Game
BruteForce (Full Random => Goths) vs. The_Horde (Full Random => Goths)
Map Type: Gold Rush

Same civs... Both AI's go for a flushing set-up Bruteforce with mainly Skirms and The_Horde with mat at arms + archers/skirms.

Bruteforce saying at 25 mins "a this is going to well for me i think." to which is attacks, But The_horde was already 85% up to the castle-age and not really impressed. Bruteforce also retreated shortly after.

The_Horde tried to do some attacking of his own then but probaly because of the 3 defensive towers bruteforce made it true.

The_Horde having 3 tc's, most relics and the center gold just took it easy and started massing up. At about 38 mins it went with a forward / center castle and his troops over to Bruteforce which resigned shortly after this.

notes for bruteforce: No crash! - Bruteforce got housed at 60 pop.
- First gold camp on middle gold
- Archery ranges quite far away to start off with
- Long hunting distances which costed 2-3 vills (gold rush middle wolves)
- extra tc's rather far away.
- And on the end insted of placing a stone mining camp on either of the 2 spots in your home town, it got placed on a random far away stone spot (which triggerd a nice 7 strong wolf pack)

did very good despite a loss

Bruteforce (-> Viks) vs IS-machine (-> teuts)

in advance I can say that it was a good game.
Playing on that Ghostlake map, which I dislike because of the unfair positioning, here Brute had the disadvantage in place.
Brute needed quite a lot of time to feudal, for his luck, IS machine didn't take advantage from this which was a unclever decision as Brute placed a well-located tower close to the Teuts GC.
That caused troubles in IS goldminig program and cost him several ranged units.
3 further tower placement attempts failed due to too less builders : fine luck for the Teuts
Brute managed a 22 min castle time which gave him a good position, nevertheless he also didn't take gain from this, though teuts in feudal 'till 30th minute !
IS machine now quickly catched up in ups and things turned bad when Brute established 2 TC in IS machines outskirts due to lack in place at home.
after leveling the 2 TCs IS machine attacked but entirely failed when his quite spread attackers crashed against a concentrated line of vik ranged defenders.
Brute countered but refused to substitute his army with strong offensive units, so this attack died slowly while not able to refill his losses.
Meanwhile Teuts managed to get a castle ahead up..
Brute lost many single rams for no use.
IS machine in better eco renewed his army with knights, attacked again but failed same as before, meanwhile the mapcenter iceplane was covered with bodies.
Some smaller quarrels were going on more moving to Brutes camp who's fate was decided as soons as he lost farm-construction for some reason.
From then on it was easy feezing for the Teuts directed by Duck's ICE machine.

result : loss
