The year is 1299. A little over a year has passed since the events in "Gwyndlegard"; when Xaphira was defeated, imprisoned and stripped of all her magical powers, when her right hand Count Tengil disappeared without a trace, and when the country of Gwyndlegard cast back its Xiochan occupants back into Xioché. The countries are still recovering from the devastating war that lasted for two years. Gwyndlegard has been transformed from a country of seemingly eternal peace, to one prepared for war wherever its attacker chooses, and is now recreating its once huge armies that once kept all potential enemies at bay.
While there is peace in the west, as a new king has been chosen in Xioché, one more loyal to Lord Mezenghi, the situation in the east is not so calm.
At the start of the Xiochan invasion, five years ago, the easternmost province of Gwyndlegard, Rockspring, declared independence after it's lord, Lord Aerun, had refused to send his armies to Mezenghi's aid; Rockspring's armies should protect their own land, not some faraway province that no one in Rockspring cared about. Mezenghi could do nothing as Xaphira's and Tengil's armies were flooding his western front.
But now, after the second war against Xaphira has ended, Mezenghi can finally turn his attention to the east. Suitably enough, the old King Aerun of Rockspring recently died and his much more agreeable son, Hanley, took the throne. Mezenghi calls in one of his most loyal commanders, the recently knighted Immanuel, our hero from "Gwyndlegard", to join him on his journey to Rockspring, and to help him bring the region back under his rule.
In Rockspring, however, not everyone wants the newly born kingdom to return to Gwyndlegard. After Mezenghi has returned to Gwyndlegard after hearing of skirmishes along the border with Xioché, the king of Rockspring is assassinated and a group of nationalist revolutionaries take control over much of Rockspring. Immanuel gets caught in the crossfire and ends up leading the not-so nationalistic part of Rockspring into war with the revolutionaries.
As you can tell by the storyline above, this is a sequel to my so far greatest project, "Gwyndlegard". It is not, however, the grand sequel I've been planning almost since the moment I started working on "Gwyndlegard", but it's closer connected, chronologically, to that one than to "Gwyndlegard". So it's somewhere between a sequel to and a spin-off of Gwyndlegard, and prologue to the "real" sequel. For the time being I'll just call it a spin-off.
As opposed to most of the storyline in Gwyndlegard and the real sequel, this scenario popped into my head only about a week ago. I had come up with the region of Rockspring about half a year ago, but I didn't have any plans of getting it into a scenario as it didn't fit too well with the sequel I had plans for.
But because I thought the idea was quite good, and because I could finally bring myself to open the editor for the first time in six months, I decided to start working on this!
• A sequel to Gwyndlegard!
• Not
• Like its predecessor, the emphasis of the scenario lies on the story, humour and atmosphere
• Various gameplay styles, although focus will lie on Build & Destroy
• In my opinion, my best looking map so far
• AoC compatible! (i.e. no data changes or mods, or incredibly complex design tricks, although they technically would be AoC compatible)
• Music themes for each of the four towns
• Featuring music primarily by Russell Shaw, Kevin MacLeod and John Debney

Map: 100%
Triggers: 100% *
Story: 100%
AI: 100% **
Music & sounds: 100%
Bitmap: 200% ***
** Note to self: Giving 5 players Immobile AI doesn't count as progress
*** Made a new one.
• Any bugs you come across,
• If the scenario is well-balanced, or too easy or too hard,
• Any major grammar/spelling errors you come across (or, if you like nitpicking,
• Your opinion of the scenario. Did you enjoy it? Was there any part of the story that didn't make sense? Etc. etc
You don't have to write a 2,000 word report, just get those points into the report somehow; I need to know as much as possible to make the scenario as perfect as it can get.
