@ Mahazona: I'm in the process of recolouring the Galleon sails (replacing the default ones with the Longboat's striped pattern) for my Wheel of Time mod
well i have done this to the small sail parts recently but never was able to do the main sail(too time consuming) if you want i can give them to you.

I don't know how much you're still looking for gameplay suggestions, but what about making Rivendell's buildings regenerate? It could also work for any tree-based buildings for the Woodland elves, but it would emphasize Imladris' defensive nature.

Also, super late offer, but are there any .slps left to create? I've gotten more comfortable manipulating graphics and could assemble a few.

I don't think there are any campaigns yet, as this is still the release from 2012. They are working on them, though, I believe. You will just have to wait on that. There are some scenarios in the Blacksmith that you can download though.

There's various campaigns lying around in the blacksmith which use the Tales of Middle Earth mod, but most of them aren't too high quality sadly.

Not a bad idea if its possible, but it would have to be pretty slow (too slow to be of much help in the middle of an attack) or elves would become OP, right?

(yes, I know they were the world's 2nd most powerful beings, 1st being Sauron, but in a game...)

Technically Istari (wizards) and Balrogs, because they both come from the Maiar order (same as Sauron, but Sauron was the strongest Maia iirc), are more powerful than elves. (I read far too much Tolkien )

If I'm not mistaken, hardcoded limitations make it impossible to heroize Rivendell buildings without doing the same for all other civs unless you create a whole new group of buildings for only Rivendell's use. Even ES couldn't make one Huskarl unit that was trained at 2 buildings (to provide a quick comparison, as the Castle Huskarl and Castle Elite Huskarl and the Barracks Huskarl and Barracks Elite Huskarl are all different units in the data).

It shouldn't be an issue to heroize one civ's buildings. Age of Chivalry used to heroize the Ruiter as the Rhenish Knight or Condottiero for specific civs, and vanilla Conquerors has graphics, projectile units, and even internal names change between civs. The barracks Huskarl is a special case, as it would need to simultaneously have two values in a single parameter to work.

As for balancing, the regeneration would have to be at the underwhelming rate of 1 hit point per 2 seconds. (The Accursed Tower is heroized if you'd like to see this rate in a less abstract form.) It's likely too slow to be much use, but Rivendell could use a few more unique traits anyway.

And for good measure, I'd vote on Tom Bombadil over most (if not all) Elves .

True on the hero buildings, however, you can't make only Rivendell's buildings regenerate. It's an all or nothing deal for any given unit ID.

You could create a new unit for each of Rivendell's buildings for each age, and have the regular buildings upgrade automatically (place the effects in the Rivendell tech tree, and have an auto-researched tech for each age that upgrades the building graphics). But that would be a lot of work, especially at this late stage of the game.

Ugh. Getting hard to keep track of things. I've got a huge recreation of Moria im doing in Minecraft, while keeping up with this stuff. I should have a few more histories done by the end of the week.

If any of you guys take a look at Star Wars galactic battleground's data, the Gungan civilizations' buildings can regenerate. If you want to apply the same to Rivendell's buildings, it's probably doable since building regeneration is in the genie engine's coding.

Building regen is largely a gimmick. If its slow its pointless. If its fast its annoying. I'm not saying there's no way to make it work but I don't see the point. Its something to add for the sake of adding rather than for improving gameplay.

And Pulkit, what happened to the pic you were going to post? :P

Using hero mode it would also make the buildings unconvertable (even though there is no converter unit in ToME ) and 1 hp per 2 seconds is not even that bad. Just imagine a forward base you had and that was attacked, but then later ignored by the enemy. Having your buildings regerate is a nice bonus in pretty much every situation, although the bonus would hardly have any effect on battle situations, only during times of less attacking...

I would not ask for this feature, but it sounds nice nonetheless!

Looking forward to any news.

I'm still following this : D

Do either of you have a steam account? And if so, do you have Terraria?

I want to gift you both (or are there more than 2 working on this?) the game as a very small thanks for this. I'm loving the information and screenshots to each update.

I say Terraria, since I have some extra copies, and some of my graphics are actually in game (71 hair styles )

So I found this site a couple of weeks ago, and have since joined and tried the different mods. Two questions, where do I learn the review guidelines and is anybody still working on updating this mod? Sorry if I'm in the wrong place, but I'm new. I also have A+ Cert, Java, C+ and VB expertise if I can be of any help to anyone.

lordinuyasha, do you have the C patch installed? Not having it is usually the root of the issue you are describing.

btw Matt, that Rohan screenshot you posted a few months ago was never put on moddb.

Relax, peeps, these guys have lives too. Last time they checked in, the mod only had a few weeks of work left on it (IIRC). There's no need to start throwing all the bull about the mod being dead yet. In fact, the beta is already an outstanding mod in and of itself. Its first release outshone many completed projects on the blacksmith, and that was before the graphics and gameplay balance overhauls these guys are putting in.
