everything is so great but here's some little stuff that still doesn't seem right to me and could be tweaked easily
so first off, siege towers seem pretty useless if they're only good for overcoming walls given how fast you can spam another layer if you see them coming-
they should be like moving towers where you can garrison archers to fire more arrows first and that wall thing should just be a bonus
otherwise they're only really good for surprise attacks in that small window where you don't have a castle to use petards for that-
and petards would actually get all your units through that wall and can take down another layer easily
another thing is-
hope you can let siege towers stick to that wall and use them as kind of a latter to send units through them over the wall without having to garrison and ungarrison over and over-
if this would be recognized as a new pathway
secondly, would be cool if elephants were like twice as strong as a boar and in return you only have one of them in your vicinity-
would shake up the usual dark age build order on african maps a little and make for a new experience (you could have a map with a parade of elephants in the middle making for a feudal age hunting fest with simultaneous feudal rushes, forwards and so on)
you would wait for like seventeen vills until your first elephant lure-
you would need to pull your wood vills to help you with that elephant as well
overall, I'd love to see the animals have at least little tweaks to them-
like jags on meso maps should be a little faster, faster attacking, stronger and have a little more health but less armor than wolves
lions should be the strongest wolf type animals-
if not for crocs who could have insane armor stats but a slow attack rate of course :P
lastly, organ guns would be way cooler if they were stronger and cost almost the same as bombard cannons-
they should be the ultimate unit killing siege-
and would be really neat if you could have a formation like button which determines if they shoot the whole seven barrels at once or quickly after another-
if that's not possible I'd rather go for the seven shots in quick succession cause that would make them like gunpowder chu ko nus which is super sick and most importantly brand new
every barrel shot could deal 10 damage stacking up to 70 attack for each full volley- could make this chu ko nu like as well where the first shot does the whole maybe 20 damage and the 6 succeeding ones (4 for non-elite) would do 5 per shot
but either way these guys would of course take time to reload and have the same slow attack speed as a bombard cannon-
just for balancing cause the price alone wouldn't make up for this crazy high splash damage that is pretty accurate
all this would just have them be different than hand cannoneers and war wagons etc more-
and I guarantee you it will have people talking :P
and I mean, you can balance everything by price and creation speed and some counters alone- war elephants, war wagons, bombard cannons etc, so that shouldn't be the issue

honestly, I kinda feel like you could do so much more with this african setting- like give every civ at least two unique units since they don't have that meso-like culture specific eagle warrior line
I feel like something is rushed about this- maybe it's that it only has four civs and only two african ones at that- maybe it's the sloppy looking siege tower/genitour which aren't essential units anyway but still :/
I don't know what it is but it's making me sad since this could very well be the last aok expansion and it has the most amazing groundwork and setting I've seen!
I'm saying it could very well be the last cause even more civs could be hard to find, even harder to make them stand out-
so--and I'm hurting writing this cause I really want this expansion right now--I feel like you should rather take some more time and really make this one the last but best expansion aok has ever seen- and yes, I'm including conquerors with this
just come straight for the throne with this one!
or promise to revisit this one and make a saturated, perfected and extended version of this if it sells well!
which it will! I hope!
cause, the old civs could get some more love as well- some more secondary uus for civs that can use them
maybe even a new generic europe based infantry unit
like an axeman who is strong against infantry and a more trashy version of the jaguar warrior
some of my fav new secondary uu ideas for the established civs
of course, greek fire throwers for byzantines
this one is a little left field but I think it would work equal to like a war elephant at breaking boundaries-
the great bombard for turks- you could scratch the treb for them and give them this far ranged super cannon instead which would shoot a normal paced (think bombard cannons) but horizontal flying cannon ball with huge splash damage which tears down everything in its way
this absolute monster could be super expensive (500 gold, 300 wood) but taken out by most but definitely heavy cavalry (it has a little melee armor) and most effectively by onagers and bombard cannons which it can destroy easily as well though-
it would have the slowest reload speed and firing rate of maybe 20.00 or 18.00
french could get the lancer as a secondary uu which is a shiny bright knight with an el cid like lance and an attack bonus against cavalry- they could be like super camels with high pierce armor but less speed and a weakness to monks :P
those are all I can think of right now
tweak to jaguar warrior I really desire is to give them +4 base attack and have garland wars only affect barracks infantry- would make them really strong and an option in castle age
