Fkgflskkfjdsgf! And if that false start didn't scare you, clearly you aren't playing along with the theme! Good knights, welcome again to another fortnight's end, with some more On the Battlefield'y goodness being smuggled into your browser. This is your always-in-the-fray report about all things AoK in these last two weeks, and I am your humbled Dictator Aro, ready to serve you in ways you couldn't even begin to comprehend; and prepared to be overjoyed too, as this is our special Halloween Edition!!! YAY! But hey Aro, what the heck is that supposed to mean? Read on, my forcefully-frightened friends!
Modding Gallery and Age2oon Contest
This week was met with the expansion of our gallery, the all-new Modding Gallery, displaying the many different mods that can be found in our Blacksmith downloads database! These huge mods vary, from the Lord of the Rings theme of Middle Earth Total Conversion and Battles of Middle Earth, to the Romanesque feel of All Roads Lead to Rome and Rome At War. Want to witness the glory of Rome and J.R.R. Tolkien, and maybe even install these mighty modpacks? Make your way to the Modding Gallery!
We have also closed our Age2oons contest after an excellent turnout, and the results, as well as the winner of their own custom title, will be announced tomorrow (only because I want our lovable Scuddles to post it, I swears)! If you're interested in seeing all of the hilarious entries we received, check our third Age2oon Gallery and view the madness for yourself! Also, don't think this contest ending means that you can't Submit Your Age2oons to our Gallery; we're always looking for new submissions!
Community News
Something I forgot to mention last week was our new Submit News thread, which lets you throw news of your own into the face of your lovable Age of Kings reporters. That's right my friends, YOUR NEWS, the way YOU want it! Have something that you think deserves to be up here on the front page, for all eyes to see and otherwise devour? Pay a visit the Submit News thread now! Or else...!
Our beloved Scud posted a remembrance of Henry V's immortal Saint Crispin's day speech, known best by Age of Kings players as the Battle of Agincourt in the Age of Kings campaigns. It certainly doesn't match up to the more-alliterative and simplistic declaration by Julius Caesar, "Vini vidi vici", but it was a truly memorable battle from the hundred years war and awesome in every way possible! (For instance, it involved muddy hills.)
Two new staff members, you say?! That's right! Recently we hired none other than design community enthusiasts Kor and Lord Basse, each helping Age of Kings Heaven bring you the awesome kind of content our dear readers would like to see! If you haven't congratulated the dynamic duo on their promotion yet, make dreams come true in the Town's Crier!
This Coming Fortnight
Now, if you haven't noticed, the latest addition to our ever-expanding website, the foundation of the ModPack Stable, designed to be your go-to source for beginning work with modding Age of Kings, still isn't up; after making the final adjustments, you can look forward to it to be released this Tuesday! Now, time to explain why this is our Halloween Edition; besides this OTB's picture being "indeed quite scary", this week is going to be very special. Halloween is the event where children, man-childs and crazed adults alike dress up for a single night and scare citizens into giving them candy. Sounds very criminal, yes, but that's part of the fun, and Age of Kings Heaven is where the fun shall begin; AoKH plans on celebrating this glorious event too! We've always been the front-runner in dressing up our forums to bizarre Halloween themes, and this year, you can look forward to us raising the bar, giving one of the exagguratedly-largest forum conversions HG has experienced yet! Prepare to be scared OUT OF YOUR MIND!!! EXCITED?! CUZ I AM!!!
But on that astoundingly high note, I must ride off into the sunset once again, fair citizens of the Age of Kings Court! Stick around for Halloween, and until next time: see you on the battlefield!
