My question is within two contexts: Voobly AoC & the latest steam version (idk what abbreviation to use now AoF,AoFE,AoAK,AoRR,AoSteam????).
We have all have discussed in the past how the vikings have one of the best ecos in the game. Consequently, they are one of the best civs in the game (late game-struggles acknowledged). My question is regarding when is it actually appropriate to ever use the viking UU in the context of Voobly or Steam games?
More so for Voobly, I struggle to ever see a reason that I would attempt to field berserks over champions. Additionally, in the Steam context, beserks get a bonus against cavalry; however, I would be more inclined just to add pikes to my champs because that same bonus effects all viking infantry and not just the beserks.
Beserks have more armor and are slightly faster - yes; however, they also cost more than champs, have less hp, can only be produced from castles, and do less bonus damage to eagles and buildings than champs do.
When would be a situation that would call for Beserkers?
