Because AI scripts wont recognize normal chats i didnt think it would work BUT AI scripts will recognize taunts.
What i think you could do is record short messages like "Use Rope" with a microphone and save the file as "01 Yes.mp3" (and save the file in the Taunts folder) and then when the player wants to use the rope all they have to do is press enter, type "1", and press enter and they'll hear "Use Rope".
Then with triggers you set up so when the player stands somewhere where rope can be used it sends an AI script goal. (otherwise you could say "Use rope" when your on the other side of the map!)
The AI script could then be written so when the AI script goal is recieved and taunt "1" is recieved then it sends a ... (i forget what theyre called but they link AI to triggers like an AI script goal links triggers to AI).
So then the triggers are used again so when the ... is recieved some sort of action takes place.
Also a really neat idea is if the player says "Use rope" in a spot where you cant use rope or when they dont have rope then the AI can send a message saying "You dont have rope" or "That item cannot be used here".
I know it sounds complicated and it is but the AI wont take that long, the triggers will though.
If you want more info post a reply in this thread or email me at matthew_hollands@hotmail.com
I'll try to check here tomorrow to see if you've replied.
Also i'll attempt to make a scn and script to show you what i mean.
