I'm currently working on Shadoworld III, and I have encountered a serious problem. I have a monk, and he must be able to convert a transport. When I test it though, and I get to that point, it says, "Research is Needed Before Units can be Converted." Why is this? I noticed that the same thing occurred in the first scenario of Ulio, when the missionary was carrying the baby Ulio.
Hey, the_cobra_81! I am really looking forward to shadoworld's release, so i will help you out. You need to be at least in the castle age before you can convert units i think...if you dont want to have the player see everything their allies see, disable cartography.

Well, that's the strange thing. I made a blank map, put an enemy unit inside palisades, and set a monk belonging to the human player outside the palisades. I tested it, and it worked, but I was still in the dark age!
But starting in the castle age did work. Thanks for your help!
No problem. Cant wait for shadoworld to be complete!

Check the options menu and see if Dark Age is disabled. If it is, then your monk and missionary won't be able to convert.
It is stupid that you can disable Dark Age, but it causes your monks to lose the convert command.

Its actually kind of useful to make the cpn harder. If you have played Ulio, your monks cant convert in it.

Notice the word 'but'. I was just saying that is seems stupid that you can disable Dark Age, even if it causes something like this to happen. People would've thought that if Castle Age was disabled, the monastery can't be built, and/or a monk cannot be built at any time, only then a monk cannot convert. Who'd have thunk it was Dark Age?
