As with Dark_Aro's HP-less walls trick, everyone might already know this. How to pre-designate tasks for villagers, so it looks more impressive.
I tried putting down a Gaia villager and setting up a trigger activated on rescue to task it to a nearby gold mine. When the villager was rescued I realised it was standing still instead of going to mine gold. But it's designation was "Gold Miner" instead of a normal villager!
I tried this with lumberjacks, foragers, farmers, and stone miners. They all worked. When an entire Gaia village was rescued, the villagers all had their pre-designated tasks, even though they were standing in place.

Huh... interesting. Do they stay standing still, or will they task? I will have to try this. It would work good if you wanted the person to know what units should do what. Gold miner=Mining and so on.
Well, to do that all you need to do is rename the villager or task it to something and immediately stop it. And doesn't this bug or whatever it is work on all units? I remember a Genghis Khan doing this in my multiplayer scenario. Occasionally it would just ignore orders or stop in the middle of executing my order. The key to it may be that it was changed ownership from a player to GAIA and back again.

Hello,
Yo may also do it not only with Gaia villagers, with PC players too. I did it a long time ago (maybe I forget some step):
Task the villager to a sheep, for example. Wait a moment and delete the sheep (don't put more sheeps around! You can do it later)-> villager is now a shepherd. And you have two possibilities: 1. Delete the sheep before the villager kills it -> the unit will bring the crook. 2. Delete the sheep after the villager kills it -> the unit will carry food. The objective is not only to change the unit's name; you also changes its animation. Thus, in the second case, for example, you can make the villager to patrol and it will seem the unit is carrying food from X to Y.
Ah! Important point: it works with a standstill AI.
(Excuse my English level)
