- Switch to a weaker weapon
- Switch to a stronger weapon at will
- Or do the same with armor, etc…
I used stone walls as the selectors for the items, because they have the least sight range, and this is necessary for the way I used the selectors.
Alright, here are the names I will use:
- Sword 1 (Weakest Sword) -Attack +2
- Sword 2 (Medium Sword) -Attack +4
- Sword 3 (Strongest Sword) -Attack +6
- Stone Wall 1 (The selector for sword 1)
- Stone Wall 2 (The selector for sword 2)
- Stone Wall 3 (The selector for sword 3)
You will need to change the attack of the main character to what his first sword gives him, if you are going to start him with a sword. (i.e. you start with sword 1 in your inventory, sword 1 has an attack of 2, so you change the main character’s attack by 2 right at the beginning of the game)
The big trick here is that the sword that a wall section represents, is selectable throughout the whole game. The only reason you can’t select it and use the sword, is because it is not visible until you are in the spot where you pick up the sword. This is why it is necessary to have a preventive trigger against marco and polo cheats.
Without further adieu, here is the trick:
Trigger 1 (Equip Sword 1)-
Starting State: OFF
Display as Obj: OFF
Looping: NO
Condition 1: Object selected (Stone wall 1)
Condition 2: Timer (5)
Effect 1: Display Instructions (equipped sword 1)
Effect 2: Change Object Attack (+2)
Effect 3: Deactivate trigger (Equip Sword 2)
Effect 4: Deactivate trigger (Equip Sword 3)
Effect 5: Activate trigger (Un-equip Sword 1)
Trigger 2 (Un-equip Sword 1)
Starting State: ON
Display as Obj: OFF
Looping: NO
Condition 1: Object selected (Stone wall 1)
Condition 2: Timer (5)
Effect 1: Display Instructions (unequipped sword 1)
Effect 2: Change Object Attack (-2)
Effect 3: Activate trigger (Equip Sword 1)
Effect 4: Activate trigger (Equip Sword 2)
Effect 5: Activate trigger (Equip Sword 3)
Trigger 3 (Get Sword 2)
Starting State: ON
Display as Obj: OFF
Looping: NO
Condition 1: Objects in Area (Main character)
Effect 1: Display Instructions (--Got sword 2--)
Effect 2: Remove Object (Whatever represents sword)
Effect 3: Change Ownership (Stone wall 1, from p.2 to p.1)
Repeat Trigger 3 for Sword 3 also. Then repeat Triggers 1+2 for swords 2+3 except with altered activation triggers etc…
