Ok... So you don't have the expansion pack? If not, then you can't run Conquerors scenario (.scx) or campaign (.cpx) files. You can run original scenario (.scn) and campaign (.cpn) files, however. There is nothing you can do about that except get the expansion pack.
You don't install an AI file. You simply place the AI file and its respective .per file into the AI folder of the Age of Empires II main folder. To use it in a standard game, choose the AI file from the dropdown box next to "Computer." (You can also replace yourself, but then you won't be able to play. You will just watch two AIs battle each other.) f you want to use the AI file in one of your own scenarios, go to the "Players" menu and choose the player to receive the AI file, then choose the AI from the dropdown "personality" box.
Hope it helped.

thx, the first part (bout .scx files) i already kind of thought that.
now, bout the ai files, i already tried what you said... i put the .per files in the AI folder (the AI folder only has 1 file: ai.txt), but when i went into the game, there was no personalities (only Normal)...

In the scenario editor go to the 'Players' section and select the Ai category from Standard to the name of the Ai you added.

but that's the problem... look at what I do: 1 - Move *.per files into /Age of Empires/Ai 2 - Start AOE and enter Edit Scenario 3 - Click on "Players" 4 - Click on the drop-down list
but then there is only "Normal" and "None"

Along with the .per file you need an .AI file that is named the same thing as your .per. The .per file is recognised throught the .AI file which is why their names must match exactly.
