This was a passage recited from the old Scrolls of Eulock, passed down 800 years through the kingdom of Abel. Aegis was the god of our world, in the beginning when he created man in his own image, five of his sons were sent to Earth from the heavens, they founded five separate kingdoms, Abel, Reyden, Guroth, Theophilus, and Nivet.
His sons each lived well beyond the normal life span of men, truly they did found their kingdoms, fathering hundreds of children with many wives. 200 years they ruled their kingdoms, but each sensed that his life was coming to an end, an instinct drove them to war. It was around this time that Eulock the scholar was born in the kingdom of Guroth. He grew up during the Great Conflict, first a soldier and later a teacher, he traveled to each kingdom and learned the pasts of the Sons of Aegis. Eulock lived for 68 years, all of them during the Great Conflict, the fighting never ceased while Eulock lived.
The first kingdom to fall was Theophilus, it fell to the powerful Abel, the son of Aegis, Theo, was murdered by his brother Abel when the capital was taken. All soldier immediately pledged alliegiance to Abel, and suddenly Abel gained a powerful advantage over his other brothers. It was not long before Guroth fell to his blade, then Nivet, and finally, 308 years after Aegis had created them, Abel became the last Son of Aegis and was therefore granted an extended life. After ruling the five kingdoms for 200 more years, Abel finally passed on, leaving the kingdoms to his son, Serié.
Serié left the kingdoms to his son, Iven, who left the kingdoms to his son, Fenault. Fenault was a weak king, a rebellion in Nivet led to his death, and the liberation of that kingdom from Abel’s tyranny. Fenault’s only child, a girl of 13 was left to lead her father’s kingdom and continue the Abel legacy. Her name was Evié, she brought peace to Abel and recognized Nivet as it’s own nation as it had been 500 years ago. Her son Timotheé took over her legacy, he was an evil man after his mother’s death, he taxed the people of the four Abel nations to ruin. His son, Lucas, was the same as his father, evil, so evil that there was talk of another rebellion, with help from the sovreign nation of Nivet, a rebellion lead by Samuel Chalèrment brought down the kingdom of Abel, and all nations were freed. Abel’s land was divided up by the four nations and peace remained for 20 years.
René Abel, the Black Prince had gathered an army, he was cousin of Lucas and a supporter of the old ways. He wanted nothing more then to see an Abel leader return to power, in his mind, he was the last of the Abel bloodline, which the peasants said had become tainted with evil ever since the time of Timotheé. With his army, filled with legions of demons and monsters, he conquered Nivet and took the seat of power.
Over the course of 14 bloody years, his horde spread quickly across the countryside, it was not long before he claimed all land known to exist, this new supernation of Abel was unopposed.
Now, 20 years after the descent of René Abel to power, you play the part of ‘des Fils de l’Epée’ resistance, who fight for freedom from the Abel.
