Hidden unit(s) will help to create a better teleporter scene. I will presume you have a 'named' hero unit of a specific type and perhaps some enhanced stats. If you hide other units of this specific type near to the teleport receptor. One can create the illusion that the named 'hero' has been transported.
This idea works best if hero is 'teleporting' into undiscovered areas.
Keep hidden unit in another immobile player position (unseen).

Hero enters or advances onto teleporter.
Telporter Receptor Location(s) light up in a flash to 'fog of war' by creating and removing map reveals in a flash with triggers.
Instruct player, esp. if you have given a choice of receptor locations...player might have to select an object or type a taunt to trigger command to arrive at the location of choice.
Instantly task in hidden unit(s) to the receptor location (the nearer the better, just so the hidden unit is not revealed in the 'flash').
Instantly play sound file you have chosen for the teleportation scene (this can be played in the task trigger above). Note: Timing is important.
Remove original hero unit with a trigger.
Again, Instantly give the hidden unit the hero's name and stats through trigger effects.
Change view to teleporter receptor location.
Perhaps a few more flashes of map reveal for effect.
At last activate the trigger that will change ownership of the hidden unit at the receptor location to player.
Hero has been teleported.

In game it should appear as though our hero has entered the teleporter (The Gates of Osiris), and a few locations 'light up' on the game map and mini map. Hero is instructed to it's use, and selects the specific object (pyramids), to teleport to desired location. Upon selecting the object the amazing teleportation sound you chose begins to play, and the change view teleports player to a view of the receptor location. The receptor is visible in fog of war only so the hidden unit is still not visible. A flash of map reveal and then the hero appears.
