Hey people, I think I got a nice idea on how to teloport units to other places. See if you like it:
First, you must have two of the same unit (one which you control and another owned by an ally player). The second unit should be in the place where you want to be after teleporting.
SYSTEM You move to an area (portal) and then you get instantly to your destination.
Trigger0 START STATE YES LOOP NO Condition: Bring object to area (first unit to portal) Effect0: Activate Trigger1
Trigger1 START STATE NO LOOP NO Effect0: Change ownership (first unit - ally player) Effect1: Change ownership (second unit - you) Effect2: Change view (location: the place where the second unit is)
If you want to go back, use the same triggers.

Yes, many have even taken the trick a step further. For example, in RPGs, authors will put a teleported hero unit inside the shop. When the original hero unit reaches the outside of the shop, he'll be "teleported" to the inside on a different part of the map.

Not to be a complete jerk, but besides teleportation being very easy for even basic editor users to figure out, the actual topic on it has been done to death.
I hope I don't rub you the wrong way, its just that this topic is a bit unnecessary, especially since you kinda sound haughty as if you created this thing.

That's also very usefull if you changed the name for your main character. In "A Faerie Tale", I'm using that trick to go into buildings like a stable, temple, and castle.
Very convenient!

lyrabelacqua_859 how do you make the parts of the scenario look like the side of a building.?
Just use walls, and cover the inside of the walls with "Road" terrain.

Teleportation is used in Blacksun Series fourth playable scenario Among the Dead to access a plateau surrounded by cliffs through a warp gate.
The trigger is used for cut-scenes, to tell a story of the same unit in different areas.
It is used to enter buildings and there is an utility at the blacksmith about this topic.

What are you trying to say DarkBlade, that it was only good when it was first done..?

No, I'm not saying that. Although I don't like the idea myself, I think it is clever and an ideal addition to RPG. I was just suggesting that the tone of his message inferred that he had come up with some revolutionary new idea that will change the face of TC!!!!

Well if he thinks that he's invented it, then it means that he hasn't seen it anywhere before. This means that he has discovered it independantly, and shows as much resourcefullness as the person he invented it before him.
It's also very kind of him to share with us what he thought was a new idea, even though it has been discovered before.
