i'm not sure whether this is useful to anyone but it could be.
step 1: create a patch of water on scenario editor
step 2: build a monk, a relic, a villager and a transport ship
step 3: build a palisade wall around the edges very closely leaving one gap
step 4: get the monk to pick up the relic and walk into the transport ship
step 5: get the villager to fill in the extra gap in the wall.
step 6: delete the transport ship
step 7: delete all the palisade walls.

i would add a screenshot but i don't know how to place one.

It's old, but I don't get it, why should I have villagers and palisades?

If you look in this You'll find one already done, that can be map copied, saves all that hard work

because if there are no palisades then the relic will appear on the shore, and the monk won't be able to get into the transport ship if there are palisade walls all around the edges, and by fixing the gap i meant the villager building another bit of wall in the gap.

I think what peterb is getting at is to make there be no place to unload the relic except on the water. Then when it does, delete everything else around it.
