I have developed a technique that I am going to use in my upcoming campaign. I feel it has potential for RPG designers.
Please see if you can figure this one out. It's not too complicated, and I will announce my solution within a couple of weeks or so. D_B
I want to create a unit that has different stats, such as strength, charisma, honour, valour and speed. I want these all to be variable numeric values. The trouble is that I can't represent these as standard resources, because:
a) There are only four standard resources (with a lot of effort you could probably use kills or poulation or something as a 5th)
b) I want to use standard resources in my game, as it is a B&D/FF or something.
At the same time I don't wish to create a thousand triggers just to manage these stats.
I want to create 5 additional resource types (with contents that can vary between 0 and 7) and be able to edit the value in them during the game. At the same time, I want to be able to use the standard resources in the game as normal. All this must be done using less than 50 triggers.
Does anyone currently have a solution for this? I want to know if they have, or if a better solution has already been found before I reveal my masterpiece!!!
