It says in the Scenario Design FAQ that to create shorelss water you need to add a middle section of a bridge across the bank and then remove it. I tried doing this and then deleting the bridge but the shore is still there! What do I do?
Thanks

You do Use-the-search-function-trick! Located at the bottom.
Where are you placing the bridge middle? Remember, that by removing Bridge-Middle, only the area under Bridge-Middle will become shoreless water. If you put Bridge-Middle between the banks, on the river, I don't think it'll affect anything...You'll just have walkable water.
Anyway, best way IMO is using Map copy -function, and copy some shoreless water stuff from Shoreless Water templates, found in UTILITIES or Blacksmith...
"Especially awe-inspiring is the fact that any single brain is made up of atoms that were forged in the hearts of countless stars billions of years ago... These atoms now form a conglomerate – your brain – that can not only ponder the very stars that gave it birth but can also think about its own ability to think and wonder about its own ability to wonder. With the arrival of humans…the universe has suddenly become conscious of itself. This, truly, is the greatest mystery of all." - Rama

Thanks Lt_Surge99
Can't remove the bridge with triggers so I'm going to swallor my pride and get a template. Who knows it'll probably make my maps look better too!
Thanks for your advice

This has nothing to do with pride - just common sense
To remove the bridges with triggers, simply have a trigger with the remove object effect. Set the area, and ensure that the correct player (the one who owns the bridge) is selected, and if need be specify Bridge-A-middle etc. It should work fine. This removing bridges technique can be used to have objects 'floating' on water by map copying them onto a bridge, and then removing the bridge. The opposite can be done by using Bridge tops and bottoms (map copy sea objects onto them and remove the bridge). This will place sea objects on land, thanks to the fact that tops and bottoms create desert rather than shoreless water.

Would you say I was "cheating" or such by map copying from other people's work and putting it in my scenario?
What I would do is take a map copy of a very small area of eye candy, modify it a little, and build up around it. Eye candy is hard to make after you start running out of ideas, but if you have starting points it helps a bit. I could find other ways to do it too, I just think this one would be quite neat. I don't mean a huge area or anything, just small areas say 5 by 5 tiles or so.
It's not like anyone would be able to tell, and it wouldn't really improve my map design very much, but I just wanted to see what the opinions people have about this trick.

Yeah - it was more having difficulty getting the bridge to disappear than anything else.
Thanks

Use Towers next time, they work better, IMO.

I think its ok to borrow someone's eyecandy...just make some stuff of your own as well...
@Argy Try placing a bunch of bridge B Middle's along the shore. Then, after the scenario starts, make a few triggers to remove them all. This is essentially what the tutorial tells you to do, but sometimes it helps to hear it said differently. Or maybe a diagram.
H=Bridge |=Edge of River
H|..|H H|..|H H|..|H H|..|H H|..|H H|..|H
Anyway, hope that helps. I know it has been explained in a bunch of other ways, but the method works.
What do you mean? Which towers can be placed on water and removed to create shoreless water? Sea Towers?

Don't know about removing the towers but you can put Sea Towers, Sea Gates and Sea Walls on water. To get them, just download cheeZY_MOnkey0's Designer's Template from the Blacksmith.

Or, more logically, download GeniEd2 and unhide them
There is, however, a really useful utility with Sea Gates on land. I recommend the download (sorry, I dont have a link).

To use a tower: 1: Place a tower on the shore 2: Destory the tower It's tedious, but it works. You could try bigger buildings, too.
