I installed the cliff mod to my game. All it is the same AOK cliffs, but with a layered transparency of terrain "Road 1" added to it.

Yes, I used the Road 1 pattern for the purpose. I opted on this solution to make the Ciff/wall appear more integrated into the general look of the environment. My first version was a proper wall with straight lines - which remains the version I prefer. The only problem with this was, that it did not "sell", since people prefer more articulated surfaces, as they fit better with random maps. I also have a "rocky" version which is of a greyish tint and uses real rock textures taken from photographs. I will not make this public however, since I am far from satisfied yet with the seamless attachment of the tiles. I had also doubts about whether or not I should make available the version you have installed, since - as you may have already discovered - I was unable to locate one part of the cliff (the upper right corner) in the drs file, so it remained the way it was.
The road texture was not added with a "transparency" trick.
