Is there anyway to keep dead bodies from rotten away? (In the case i need "the long swordman dead" (160) staying).
It fades away if you just place it in editor/with triggers.
Make a looping trigger tajking it doesn't work either

I guess there could maybe be done by "Damage Object" etc. but I don't know which numbers to use in that case.

Anyone know how to keep them visible (or if you got an idea) please help me

I'm pretty sure there's no way to keep dead units from rotting away, seeing as the creators put them in the game just so they could rot away. Are you sure a looping trigger-effect-creat object-(dead body) doesn't work?

It doesn't work any good since the body could spawn in any of the 8 directions, which ends up in a circle with dead skeletons

Ah. That's true. Sorry, unless you can mod a certain object you don't mind having replaced, to a dead body on every frame, It's kinda imposible.

All units rot. Beta units (Adv. heavy xbow, beta berserk, heavy sword etc) apparently don't rot, because (depending on the rotation they die), their dying frames are played on the wrong order.

But they do disappear eventually.

I don't know where I got it but I have this scn called projectiles and it has some dead bodies that don't decay...

Isn't it just that the dead bodies which are on the map at the start of the game do not rot?

I assume the map you are talking about has those bodies which are in all the beta units/hacked map/ templates etc.

BTW, I think there must be a way to stop the rotting of units killed in-game. Anyone tried using trigger studio to get a patrol or +HP effect with a dead body object as the target? IIRC all the different dead bodies have their own object codes and you can select them from the list...

Of course, it would probably have to be seperate effects for each different kind of dead body object that you wanted to stay 'fresh'...

I think the conclusion most people have come to is that no such trick exists.

IIRC, there was some sort of elaborate explanation of the trick, although I can't remember if it was actually Phil that did it. It involved the creation of some sort of GAIA object (like a rock) on top of the dead body, then removal of the rock, or something like that. Don't think it worked, though.
