What properties does this hero have that are different from a normal trade cart, other than the fact it's a hero?
Is it featured in an ES campaign?
By the way, I want a villager with better attack. Is there a work-around for the change object attack effect on villagers?

Yes, it is featured in the Barbarossa campaign, in the last scenario.

There is no workaround, besides data editing.

If you go the Spanish in the expansion pack your villagers get a bonus nine attack if you upgrade some unique technology.
The Emperor in the Barrel is Frederick Babarrosa, the Holy Roman Emperor. He died during the Third Crusade and so they took his corpse and put it in a barrel full of pickles or something and dumped him at the Dome of the Rock.

You can change the attack of a villager by using a "change object attack effect" this can be found under the trigger tab in the list of effects
To increase the attack put a number in the quantity box of the change object attack effect, after setting the source player to the player that should have the increasing attack. Furthermore set the proper area or object depending on the situation. Please dont forget to select the goto object if used select object or goto area if used set area to ensure the effect to work properly.
To decrease the attack first put a - in the objective screen and copy it by selecting the - with your mouse, then right click the selected area and choose copy in the menu that just opened. Now, make an effect changed object attack, and fill the effect by setting the source player, the area (dont forget to press the goto object or goto area buttion) and the kind of unit from the drop-off menu. By now you have a blank quantity box. Listen carefully, you must now rightclick in the box and click paste from the menu that appeared. Press your right cursor button on your keyboard so the cursor which blink in the quantity will move at the right side of the - sign, put the number you want the unit to be lowered in this box. After that, don't click the effect again, else you will notice that the quantity box value is reset. This is something you dont want to happen.
I hope this helped you to make your villager like you want. If you encountered any problems please ask them
Good luck

Wizardboy, the problem with just changing the attack of a villager is that when it changes into a different kind of villager (woodcutter, gold miner, repairer, fisher, gatherer, farmer, regular villager), then the attack is set back to regular, because all the different villager types are different units.

Exactly. We've established the fact that there is no workaround and answered my EiaB question. Thanks.
EDIT: Meh, I was wrong WizardBoy was right.
Maybe I should change my location...

Okay. Maybe my language was a little aggressive.
WizardBoy's post was indeed helpful, but I already know how to use Change Object Attack. He still has my full respect.
Please don't call me a noob. I may look like one, but believe me, I've been browsing this forum without registering for quite a while. I'm also registered on a number of other forums, and have been for quite a while.
If you decide to flame me, I will simply request a lock. I'm not going to start needlessly flaming a fellow AoKH forum member.
I understand you may be a little angry, and I respect that.
Happy now? Now, let's each go our seperate ways...

newb =/= n00b. newb = new to the game and admits that he is. n00b = new to the game but claims he isn't.
And account registration date doesn't mirror one's competence the slightest.

Thanks Oliver.
My question has been answered. I'm happy. Is everybody else happy? Good. Now let's get on with life and ignore this thread from now on...

Pong, you did not succeed in being nice i see. I explained it like the way anyone could understand it. You are no n00b and i dont treat you like it. I just try to be clear with explaining, so don't degrade someone if he is trying to explain something to you in a way that people could understand directly or less directly.
Lucky, you made yourself good by telling me that you have full respect for me that i was so clear to answer it.
To finally get a work-around the topic. I know from posts that villagers get their attack different when they change their activity. It wouldn't be good to have individual attack changements. Cause you can really predict what the player is intended to do when it have its villager selected
So there is no point to fix this i guess

And WizardBoy, please don't treat me like a newb. I do feel slightly insulted, for some reason
Pure nonsense, i didnt make you feel being a newb, and its your own fault if you think you feel insulted through me, cause you misunderstood various things. One is that you did not follow that i was actually trying to help you to make the thing possible you ask for.
Next time if someone else is trying to explain something for you, and do it in the way i did, dont even think about telling him that he insulted you in some way, cause you feel that he doesnt know that you know more of triggers. Well, if you want to avoid "bad" explanation to your problem then reveal more of it for what makes your problem
Else, think about how to be nice when you like to respond something negative
Good luck

1. Is there only 1 villager? if so you can easily put these triggers to great use.
Layout: Sart on: yes/no Loop: yes/no Condition: (Name of condition) (Information for boxes inside the condition)* Effect: (Name of effect), (Information to put into boxes in effect)*
*Respectivly
Start On: yes Loop: yes
yes i know looped would be normally bad but see effect one on why it will work
Condition: Own Objects (type of villager, 1)
Effect: Change object attack: Type of villager from above, -(amount of attack wished to be given to object)
You have this effect to remove the AP if it already has it, this will work because when you try to remove more AP then a unit has it will simply keep the AP =D DON'T FORGET THE - SIGN wizard explains how to put it in a trigger.
Effect: Change object attack: type of villager from above,(amount of Attack wanted to be given)
This is simply to give it the needed attack
Now you need to make one of these for Each type of villager and then you have your needed effect =D Of course, this will only work if there is only 1 villager on the board, otherwise it would be much harder by haveing to keep the villager its seperate types if you can but still then it'd be hard. All the luck to you and remember, we explain thing for the people like you that had lurked the forum before registering.

Yea, thats somewhat true. People from outside this forum are generally less understanding what trigger difficulty we use, that why we put all in the most easiest way to make them easier for you to understand.
To Lurkers:
Dont tell us that we being insulting you, because we underestimate your trigger knowledge. Nope, you dont get it the right way. We just assume that you are new, so we explain it in such way. If you feel this is not how you intended it the first place, then dont tell us to be the one who insulted you, we only want to offer help!

WizardBoy, you misunderstand.
I meant no offense. My sincere apologies.
Insulted was the wrong word.
Damn, now everyone thinks I'm a noob (which I am in some circumstances...). From one silly mistake, lol. I'm willing to quit this if you're willing to quit this. Are you?
You're a very helpful person. I'll remove that comment.
Edit: w00t! A workaround! At last.
