Hey everyone, I searched the forum and checked the FAQ but there's nothing in there about this so I figured I'd post a topic.
In crasher's "The Immortal Prey" cut scene for last year's cut scene contest, at the beginning he used lightning effects using map revealers and cartography. You know, you research Cartography and change your diplomacy to a computer with map revealers from neutral to ally and back. Well I busted out my CPN editor after not being able to do this and looked at crasher's scenario. He did what I expected, but for some reason he created and killed a macaw. I tried it on a blank map with these triggers (as were in crasher's scenario):
"Start"
Starting State: On, Loop: No
Condition 0: Timer = 1
Effect 0: Research Technology - Cartography (Player 1)
"Macaw"
Starting State: On, Loop: No
Condition 0: Timer = 4
Effect 0: Create Object (Macaw)
Effect 1: Kill Object (Macaw)
Effect 2: Change Diplomacy - Player 1 to Player 2 (Neutral -> Ally)
"Lightning"
Starting State: On, Loop: No
Condition 0: Timer = 5
Effect 1: Activate Trigger "Blackness"
Effect 0: Create Object (Map Revealer) - Player 2
EDIT: Effects 0 and 1 have switched in compliance to post #3 by Tanneur. Still not working.

Starting State: Off, Loop: No
Condition 0: Timer = 1
Effect 0: Change Diplomacy - Player 1 to Player 2 (Ally -> Neutral)
Now, in crasher's scenario, he had a few triggers that activated each other, but they seemed unnecessary. Like a trigger to activate "Lightning Starter" which activated "Macaw" and "Lightning". When I tested this scenario, nothing happened. I can't figure out what I did wrong. I tried changing "Lightning"'s timing to 6, but it appeared for about a whole second then disappeared; too slow. Any ideas?
