I want to create a "leaves" terrain using triggers. However, I find that creating and removing a tree using triggers do not work. Can somebody help me?
Create a forest, then delete the trees with triggers. It should work, if you want the forest back you could create trees on the leaves again

"However, I find that creating and removing a tree using triggers do not work. Can somebody help me?" and "Create a forest, then delete the trees with triggers." mean the same, Basse.
There's a way to do it, but it requires dat editing. Most buildings put down dirt 2 terrain when they are placed. If you change the terrain number for one of your buildings (I'm not sure what the actual name is) then it will put down leaves terrain instead.

You have just given me an excellent idea courtjester. I will credit you for this idea of course. I dont know why I never thought of that before.
With your method you could manipulate ANY type of terrain by creating a new unit in AGE for each terrain base type with no terrain placing restriction.
You could possibly even give the object no standing graphics (so it looks invisible) and make it almost completely walkable so you dont have to bother deleting the unit once created. So you basically just get the look of new terrain appearing as the dirt 2 is placed as the base terrain once created not when deleted.
Im going to look into the best way (deletion or just making invisible), and see if the graphics can be changed through this method.

Actually, Matt used it first in "The Old Man in the Sea" (to create waves and such) and I learned about it through him. Maybe, Tanks should add terrain creators in EEE.

Thanks for the ideas, guys. Do any of you people know how to do it without data editing? I've just hit an idea for the withering of a tree and want to add it as a utility. Anyway if I put leaves beneath the tree it doesn't look so conspicuous, so no pressure.
Its tough getting senile, but I seem to remember that someone put a thread up on how to change terrain, but for the life of me I can't remember the author or thread, and searching for vague guesses has me stumped.
