Yeah, some people have more problems than others. I have 32-bit Vista while my friend have 64-bit w7, and we're both only having problem with the colors.

I run AoE2:TC on Vista (32-bit) and have had no problems save for the curious fact that the intro sequences (Microsoft, Ensemble Studios and the game animation) do not play when I start it up.
I have run it on the other computer with Windows 7 and the intros are all there but I get that color bug which simply will not resolve.

I run on Vista 32-bit. I was able to get the intro screens to display by changing the compatibility mode to XP.
I also have the mis-colored maps, however. Is there a fix for this?

There are programs that detects when aok.exe is launching and automatically close the explorer, then start it up when the game is closed.
