I decided to put this hear as it concerns my self made maps, rather than random maps.
Ai archers and ranged units auto dodge cannonballs, arrows, onager rocks etc. While eventually the offending unit gets hit and dies. It is annoying. In my map I have a colossal fortress with 8 rows of cliffs and 14 rows of pine forest outside those cliffs, the the whole place on elevation 7
One of the foes, celts kept arriving at the only entrance with rams. While they usually get shredded by infantry/cavalry. Sometimes they instead go for my forward buildings, or worse, my trebs.. Despite clicking cavalry on them like a madman, they always manage to damage my stuff!
So I build a colossal 3 row thick fortified wall with 30 bombard towers and some galleons on water near.. Yet, for some stupid reason, they gave bombard towers pierce dmg =_=
So now I need to send hordes of troops to "defend the defenses" and keep stuck in cycle, defend to defend to defend.
And this situation does not even consider the ai foe using treb, onagers, or cannons of his own. It appears a fully impenetrable base is impossible. And since I can not mod, which, if I could I could just make a custom bombard tower with 30 range and 1000 melee damage and 25000 hp and self regeneration. The map is supposed to make the player's city untakable. What can I do to achief this. Or is it a wretched impossibility.
