You can use palisade walls from one corner of the map to the other drawing an x through the map to find the center. Use building to easily count tiles and palisades to outline your layout. Then you simply change the terian on the other side of the walls. Then use the delete buildings function to easily remove walls and buildings.
It's actually pretty easy once you get the hang of it.

I use an atlas when I make geographically correct maps. It's not 100% perfect, but will give good results. Also, there are several programs in development that will make you able to convert image files to scenarios, making geographically correct maps easier to make. Although none of them are ready or even released as betas.
