This scenario is based on the War of the Five Kings scenario created by NBS19 which you can find here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=140639317. I haven't got the hyperlink working, so my apologies.
Basically, the idea of the War of the Five Kings scenario is it only creates a snapshot of the war during its early stages, and so the outcome of the war can change depending on who is playing what House. I'm doing the same here with this Robert's Rebellion scenario I have in mind. It's possible for there to be a different outcome.
House Tully could betray House Stark-Baratheon-Arryn and support House Targaryen while House Lannister switches sides right at the very start of the war. Or the war could be won by House Targaryen, and Robert Baratheon and Eddard Stark are slain in the field of battle.
Anyway, back to the discussion at hand.
I haven't created the initial template of the scenario yet, but it won't be in HD. It will also be Giant-sized.
The rules for the Robert's Rebellion scenario are very similar to the ones for the War of the Five Kings scenario. There will also be hero units (such as Rhaegar Targaryen and Jon Arryn). Jaime Lannister is a tricky one to place. Technically, he should be part of House Targaryen due to being a Kingsguard for King Aerys II Targaryen (who will also be a hero King). However, it wouldn't seem right to have him fight House Lannister if those two houses become Enemies (like they do in the canon).
There are some differences in this scenario. It starts out less of a free-for-all and begins with two teams, with House Lannister being the Neutral party who can join a team or stay Neutral if the player so chooses.
Most of the Houses are the same as in the other scenario, except I ditched House Greyjoy and House Baratheon of Dragonstone, and instead I included House Targaryen and House Martell. I might change the civilisations of some Houses.
I'll brainstorm more details as I develop the scenario and receive replies. At this point in time, the main thing I want to discuss is what civilisation to make each House.
Here's what I came up with.
Age of Empires II – Robert’s Rebellion
Team One
Player One: House Tully, Riverlands, Blue, Britons
Player Four: House Baratheon, Stormlands, Yellow, Teutons
Player Five: House Arryn, Vale, Cyan, Franks or Teutons
Player Seven: House Stark, North, Grey, Celts
Team Two
Player Three: House Tyrell, Reach, Green, Franks
Player Six: House Targaryen, Crownlands, Purple, Byzantines
Player Eight: House Martell, Dorne, Orange, Saracens
Neutral
Player Two: House Lannister, Westerlands, Red, Britons
When choosing civilisations, I was going for what the real-world equivalent of each house was.
House Baratheon = Germans/Holy Roman Empire
House Stark = Scotland
House Tyrell = France
House Targaryen = Romans/Byzantines
House Martell = Moorish Spain
House Lannister = English
House Arryn is a tricky one, and I can find no real-world equivalent for House Tully. I might be made to change my mind about the other civilisations if I receive a convincing argument.
