Jeanne D'Arc - Dark_Reign
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a fictionalized story following the exploits of Joan of Arc to recover France from the English. This scenario is in the RPG style of gameplay.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Characters:

Jeanne D'Arc
Born as a peasant girl on a farm in North Eastern France, she'd know nothing but war and fear growing up during the English/French 100 years war. Praying every night to God for France's release from turmoil.

Jean De Metz
A proven Knight of the French Army he is a devout Christian who wishes for nothing more to an end to this bloody war. He believes Jeanne is the answer to his prayers.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Giddie
A young and inexperienced horse, quick on his feet but has never seen battle.

Millicent
An experienced war horse, strong and brave but doesn't take kindly to inexperienced riders.

Amis
Wise and loyal, Amis is a well trained and fantastic companion but is neither considered fast nor strong.

- Seven things you may not have known about Joan of Arc:

1. Joan’s real name was Jehanne d’Arc

2. In modern times, some doctors and scholars have “diagnosed” Joan of Arc with disorders ranging from epilepsy to schizophrenia.

3. While commander of the French army, Joan of Arc didn’t participate in active combat. (though we'll ignore this one )

4. Joan of Arc had a famously volatile temper.

5. Contrary to popular belief, Joan of Arc wasn’t burned at the stake for witchcraft—at least not technically.

6. From 1434 to 1440, Joan’s brothers passed an imposter off as their sister, claiming she’d escaped execution.

7. Joan of Arc inspired the ever-popular bob haircut, which originated in Paris in 1909.

I probably won't have time to test it until around Christmas, but I hope you can finish it some day. It sounds really good so far.

I'll give her a whirl.

But I tell you, if it doesn't have mesoamerican buildings and jungle foliage in a European backdrop I'll be very, very disappointed.

Just wathced it, and I think it's pretty good, a good start for the scenario. I liked how you used the Hussar and a fireball for the angel!

My ultimate goal was to make an RPG style mixed with cutscenes (which is my prefered method of design).
It is my desired method as well! In that case, I'll definitely download this as Joan's was one of my most favorite ES campaigns.

Really? It was my least favourite But this seems very promising, enough to make it the best if compared to the other ES campaigns.

We have a very different standard now to what it was back in 1999

True. Especially when it comes to Creativity and Map Design -- two aspects which are always becoming harder and harder to accomplish nowadays, with all the new trigger tricks, mods, and map design standards.

Hehe, I think Macbeth was one of if not the best campaign ever submitted to the blacksmith. And it is from 2006. It was always quite close to "normal" maps, but with a special touch. I mean, without RPG elements and stuff.

Tamerlane, for being designed when it was (13-14 years ago) was awesome, although too much B&D for me in Stoker's scenarios; that's why I prefer Ingo's. The map design in Ulio and TKBM made my jaw drop. Blood of the Bear, Sabato series, and Halfdan are also personal favorites of mine.

That's only to speak of campaigns though, of course. I could go on for days about some of the stand-alone scenarios on here!

By the way, D_R, I love what you're doing here. Do you plan to make more Joan scenarios after this one?

Thanks.

I have a few plans but I'd like to try a few other projects too. So it'd be more of a side project.

May try my hand at a collaboration if I find a designer with similar style and happens to be free

Quite slowly. Just finished my wedding and honeymoon and getting back into work (Just worked 8 days straight after getting back in the country )

But i've had a few minutes here and there to play around. The map has changed the most i'd say. Won't upload an updated mapshot till release, though. Now that I have a good 4 hours to myself I can get more done. Haha.
