I've always like the challenge of limited resources and space in games and that can very much affect how a rts game plays out. This project is more or less going to be a culmination of projects, each of which currently will be a 50x50 map designed for 1v1 play with the added bonus of eye candy and a couple triggers to add variety.
I also like to design on very small maps making goals far more achievable.
Also where possible there will be a CD and HD version.

This one is extremely simple in terms of design. Set in a winter environment not a whole lot of pretty things are necessary. However I believe the central relic will create a focal point for any players attempting to gain control during the castle age if they can make it past the feudal. Each player is protected by cliff and has one small choke point access that can be heavily defended. But sacrificing the rest of the map to turtle will result in you having very limited space and less resources. If you're quick to explore you can find yourself a 20 HP samurai or Teutonic Knight. I believe however that the rush player will thrive more in this type of environment.

Based more on the idea of black forest type maps and the associated no rush players. Whilst it still is possible to rush a narrow pathway makes it far harder to assault a player. Extra resources are locked behind a treeline, so spam will be your best friend for holding out.
