Now this is a solution to all the newbie questions whichwe get tired of answering anybody can ask and anybody can answer here. Just ONE requirement: Make sure the question you're asking isn't answered in here or here. If not answered there, go ahead, post your question/answer!
I divide my officers into four classes; the clever, the lazy, the industrious, and the stupid. Those who are clever and industrious are fitted for the highest staff appointments. Use can be made of those who are stupid and lazy. The man who is clever and lazy however is for the very highest command; he has the temperament and nerves to deal with all situations. But whoever is stupid and industrious is a menace and must be removed immediately!

Ho hum, this has been tried before. But maybe your luck will avail over others. .

Lazy? Sorry Stan, but this doesn't make any sense. Consider the effort of registering, filling in all those fields, waiting for an email of confirmation, cutting and pasting the password and making your first post... compare all this to the simple *click* that gets you into the FAQ section from the main page.
Newbies don't know where to ask, and they expect to find design answers in a design forum. And if this forum isn't just a virtual vanity fair of self-appointed experts, newbies will also get their answers in here without much ado.

I've seen newbies who don't even know about the Blacksmith...

I agree with Ingo 100 percent on this one. No person that was truely lazy would fill out the forms required to register for the forums, when the answer they wanted could be found in a tutorial in the BS or at SCNPunk. No, the problem is that most new forummers (I avoid the term "newbie") does not know where to find the information that they are looking for.
Like Ingo said: People expect to find answers in a Scenario Design Forum. It is the logical place to look. If we are so jaded and hardened, so sure of ourselves that we can not take the time to help people that are just starting out without flaming them in the process, then the Scenario Design Community is in serious trouble

I already said in another thread Cherub Bananaman that I was in a bad mood that day. I was pretty tired of this forum filling up with newbies who kept asking the same questions and I couldn't keep it in any longer. So I'm trying to solve that with this. Apparently, it's either: 1) Ineffective. 2) So effective that we've been cleared of any more newbie posts cos' they checked out SCN Punk and the FAQ. Btw, let's not turn this into a debate shall we?

I think that the Blacksmith should read: "Scenarios, Campaigns, Reviews, Articles" on the main page so that people that come to AOKH will know where to find the answer that they're looking for.

John,
Quote:
I already said in another thread Cherub Bananaman that I was in a bad mood that day.
#1. My name's Jerusalem, not "Cherub Bananaman". If you're trying to offend me, it's not working. #2. Bad moods are never an excuse for flaming someone for asking a not-so-obvious question.

There's a simple solution for that, John......
I'm sorry but that's how it works. One of the foundations of this forum is being friendly, civil and helpful towards one-another, regadless of talent, or experience, or status, or team-membership or the amount of fruit and vegetables consumed per day. That's the axiom. That's what someone would expect a Scenario Design Forum to be; A place where people discuss scenario design and will undoubtedly be able to answer any question.
