I'm upgrading my cell phone tomorrow because my current one has broken in half and this time no amount of tape can fix it.

I want to join the digital age get a smart phone, (I've been using a flippy one since I first got a phone) but I really have no idea which one to get, anyone care to recommend one?

It has to be a T-Mobile supported phone. Here is their list of phones on their website.

I recommend that you get a Nintendo, preferably a "Gamecube" model, for all your telephonery needs.

It seems like T-Mobile doesn't offer iPhones. I haven't moved on to the digital age yet, and I know next to nothing about the different smartphones except for the iPhone since I had one for about a month. So, I cannot add any advice here.

I refuse to get a phone with a touch screen. I don't like them, they get dirty and on the whole touch screen phones are easier to break from what I've seen. I'm also sticking away from non-business-y BlackBerry-s, although that's more personal, because being a user of a string of different business BlackBerry phones, I struggle to take the same company seriously now they've reinvented themselves as social networking phones or whatever it is that they say now.

OK. Right, a verdict... I wouldn't want to pay more money for a phone after they'd already burnt me on their contract, so I'd pick the Nokia X2 because that's the only one that fits my specific criteria. Although I have never heard of it and it could be crap for all I know. The only other phones I recognized on the list were BlackBerry-s. So... you should probably ask someone else!

I'd probably end up taking the SIM out after about a month and putting it in a phone that's five years out of date anyway!

The new Nokia Windows Phones (Lumia series) seems really nice, but a bit expensive. If you can get a good deal for like Lumia 710 or Lumia 800, I'd say go for it.

Androids' also really nice. I like how you can do whatever you want with them with custom installations (like jailbreaking an iphone, but better), I think I'll buy an android myself when I get the money. If you want to be able to multi-task and stuff, make sure it's a good processor in it. I think 800Mhz should be enough, possibly dual core. Quad core is overkill and it's almost impossible to use all the processor power

My current phone is a nokia x6 smartphone from a few years back, and all I can do is text and phone, so it's not really a smartphone anymore

I have one of those
I got it for the quality of the camera lens (which I must admit, was impressive until I cracked it) and the huge capacity.

It can't do texting or looking porn or anything else those new-fangled thingamajigs can do, but it will survive being tossed down a flight of stairs and being set on fire, something no phone made today can do.

OP should look into an Atari 2600. The only downside is that it's a bit old and it might struggle with modern phonish tasks such as peeling potatoes and stimulating elephants at the local zoo.
